Phat Matt's Hot Wings — Restaurant in Dallas

I'm a 67 yr old white guy who was raised on the wrong side of the tracks on East Texas, if you know what I mean. I learned to love individualistic food joints where they ask, You want this trimmed for white people or black? Now if you expect a guy who opened a joint to show off his own special recipes to look and taste like a chain with 600 locations that serves food meant not to offend anybody, you'd better not be stopping off at a place like Matt's. But if you are the type who searches out foods that aren't going to taste anything last the last place you ate at, Matt's is as good as it gets. The "Sweet/Hot wing sauce has more FLAVOR than heat. Personally I prefer lots of heat, but I also get off on one-of-a-kind and sinful tasting food. Matt's wings are also different because they haven't been cooked into JERKY. Fully cooked, but not dry meat and a sauce that I honestly licked the bottom of the carton to taste when I woke up remembering it at 3 the next morning. Now for the links. Dunno for sure, but think they are Earl Campbell's. Whatever, they aren't the bland sausage you get at a place in Frisco. They got a real bite, but your tongue basks in the lingering flavor or it's spices plus the BBQ sauce they bath 'em in. Preferably, I could do w/o the fries with links - three is a stomach full, plus there's nothing like a great hot link wrapped in nothing but a piece of WHITE BREAD. If all goes well, I'll be found dead one day in a ditch on S. Dallas with a half-eaten Matt's hot link in my hand. Ordered 2 meals here over the phone from the parking lot and was told 20 minutes. After 25 minutes, I went inside and was told i didn’t have an order and i MUST HAVE CALLED THE WRONG LOCATION. I told that man 4 times that Unless the number on the side of their building was wrong, I called the right number. He took my order again and told me another 20 minutes so i waited. When i went back inside, i brought my phone to show him the number i called but he didn’t want to look. He then said the guy answering the phone didn’t write it down and it was “HIS BAD”. I had to repeat my order once more because he wasn’t writing anything down, going off memory and almost gave me the wrong thing smh. While waiting, another man came who had just picked up an order to bring it back stating it was the wrong thing. Smh. The food itself was good, nothing special imo. So the first time I ate this place, it was delivered to me and I had been drinking at the time and thought the food SMASHED so I came in person today and ordered the same exact thing. Catfish with fries. I love the fries, good seasoning. But the fish didn’t taste good this time. I’m really picky about my fish so don’t come for me please lol.
