I work in the area where this new Slim Chickens is located but had not dropped by till recently. I usually don't try new food places until a month after they're open to let them work out the kinks of training the cooks, etc. I have to say, I was very pleased overall. It seems there's a new tender place popping up every other week, but I think Slim will stick out in the long run. First, the prices are very reasonable. Compared to similar style eateries like Raising Canes or Wingstop, the prices are about the same or less. Basic plates are priced around $7.99 -$ 9.99, but this is a combo with a drink, dipping sauce, toast and side already. Some plates offer two dipping sauces which is a nice bonus if you care about variety. This has always been a complaint I have with Raising Canes which only serves their Cane sauce and no other choices. You can also try their Buffalo wings in a half tender/wing combo which is great, that's what I had. The actual tenders are tasty, and the toast was buttery. Fries are seasoned and you're given alot of them. Wings were prettty good, tasting more baked than deep fried. I like 'em crispier, but that was a minor gripe. If you're on the fence about trying them, I say go for it. You won't lose alot of money, and possibly gain a favorite new tender...
Read moreAfter spending 6 1/2 hours on the highway yesterday my kids and wife were craving slim chicken. I was against it because it’s 20 minutes out of our direction. Yet, we went to the store located on N Cetral Expressway. After ordering and waiting nearly 20 minutes, my wife called. One of the employees received the name on our order and said she’d be right out. After another 10 minutes of patiently waiting, I had to go inside and ask what was taking so long. I spotted our drinks sitting in the cooler behind the register. I gave them my name again & they went into the storage container to grab our meals that had been sitting for some time at this point. After I expressed how long I’d been waiting, the young lady at the register went on to say “her bad, but she wasn’t the one who answered the phone.” This type of service was completely upsetting considering we’d been couped up in our vehicle all day, and spent $40 at this establishment. Needless to say, the food was not hot and my shake was watery. I didn’t get a single apology, nor a offer for fresh food. I will definitely be spending my coins in Mesquite at Cheddars or Twin Peaks from now on for the amount of money I threw away at this...
Read moreHorrible customer service from the supervisor (I’m assuming she is)… out of every review I’ve done she has the worst customer service I’ve seen. Slim Chicken opens up @ 1030 so I walked in @ 1031… the greeting I received was “how’d you get in here?” I then replied and said the door was open (🤷🏾♀️).. she then gave a blank stare like she was irritated and said we have a big order to prepare but she’ll work my order in.. at that point I felt uncomfortable 🥴! She obviously didn’t want the other young lady to take my order but had no choice cause I was in the store after opening hours 🤷🏾♀️. They prepared my food and when I got into my car to double check it.. the Mac and cheese was cold! The shredded cheese wasn’t even melted.. the tenders weren’t even fully done. I was going to go back in but the supervisor was already upset that she had to come to work and work 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ So I just drove off to avoid conflict… the sweet tea was good though ☺️. Definitely won’t be returning to this location! Not to mention the lady that came in after me wasn’t greeted the way I was greeted… that made matters worse. SMH yes I’m...
