Sushi Time at 1638 W Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75235
Took me some time but I finally got a chance to get in here and eat since my last experience trying to. I was the only customer at the time. The food feels freshly made and prepared. It definitely tastes 🍱🍣 delicious like it was especially made for each customer. This definitely reminds me of a mom and pop type cafe 👍. I ate through the food pretty fast 😋 and do admit the quality was pretty good. Can't really judge the service because like I said I was the only person there at the time and the lady was pretty attentive to me. I do feel like the prices are kind of expensive 🤔 but for the type of quality and service you're getting, this is probably the exact amount one should be paying now. If you're looking for sushi inside the medical district area of Dallas or close to downtown. This is definitely the location you want to try out. Enjoy ☺️

Note: This place has very strict serving hours. I guess I got here late it was 6:39 p.m. on a Wednesday evening. They did not allow me to sit inside and eat even though other people were inside dining at the time. Since I did not get a chance to try the food I can't leave them good review. Felt rudely dismissed by the staff. Now this did give me a chance to go right next door to the Pho restaurant. They sent me down at a table, got my food out. I ate and I was out the door by 7:07pm. Maybe in the future I will feel like eating sushi 🍣 once again and stop by here and...
Read moreA trip recently had me pass through Dallas, and by chance we ended up eating here. Our waitress was bringing out soup to us before we had even ordered, and looking at the menu made my wallet happy. Eight bucks for soup, salad, sushi, tempura shrimp and vegetables? Unheard of.
While ordering a friend of mine tried to see if he could get the sushi that came with the meal made with a different kind of wrap, something the waitress kindly told him they couldn't do. No big deal, eight bucks for all that - he figured you take what you get. After we ate our soup, salad and sushi and our entrees came out, though, the waitress brought us an entire roll of a specialty sushi with the kind of wrap he had previously asked for. She apologized for not being able to have the sushi made exactly how he wanted it before but informed us that this additional sushi was complimentary. This kind of service continued throughout the meal.
For slightly more than dinner from a fast food burger place I experienced some of the best service I've ever received at a restaurant, along with great food. We all left huge tips and they deserved more.
Highly recommended. Here's hoping I go through...
Read moreUpdate: I will not return to this place after the rudeness of the sushiya. I've been coming to this establishment since they first changed ownership/management. I even have a "10 Visits and Get 1 Free" card with 8/10 spots filled in. I asked for a sriracha and and eel sauce. The the woman who has always worked there under present ownership handed me two small plastic containers with a small amount of sauce and I thanked her. As I was turning to go, the sushiya yells from behind the counter, "Next time you pay for those! Fifty cents each!" I replied, "Then I will not be back."
To the Sushiya: I can understand and empathize with your desire to keep cost down; however, nickel-and-diming a loyal customer who you've never asked to pay for those items and yelling such sentiment across the restaurant as I'm leaving is rude and unacceptable. You've lost my business.

It's not as quaint as it was before the change in ownership/management, but I like their current offerings in both quality and price. The sushi chef is extremely friendly and accommodating, while crafting delicious fare. It's not the best sushi restaurant, but it is one of the best budget...
