Not Bad? Just could be better.
Strolled in for YELP ELITE experience at this hip and trendy spot. Clean and welcoming Sweetgreens at Lakewood definitely gives the vibes of sustainability and healthy eating.
The store was clean, and crew members shout out a Welcome In as you enter. Daddy Mac and I arrived right before the lunch rush(plus) and began our trek down the selections. Sweetgreens offer plates(heartier portions of proteins and grains) bowls(lighter versions of the plate) and salads. They offered a nice amount of menu items like the Chicken Fajita plate(which is what I had). Fajita Chicken thigh, white rice, roasted corn, black beans, avocado with creme, and cilantro Vinaigrette. It was tasty and filling, but I would have liked more flavor in the vinaigrette and the creme. They both offered little more than oil and vinegar on the vinaigrette and sour cream on the creme. Mac Daddy had the BBQ Chicken Bowl, which he liked, but the kale that was part of the base for the salad added a bitter element that did not compliment the flavors. We both also had a slice of multigrain sourdough that was nice but was dry due to sitting out. It seemed more like decoration than an added element to each dish. The other thing that I noticed was that the items on the serving bar had not been rotated out. Many of the warm items were dried out and looked as if they had been setting out since opening that day. Just stirring the items would help keep them somewhat hydrated and fresher in appearance.

Read moreThis place is run by teens who couldn’t care less about their jobs or any sort of quality control. I arrived early and was waiting for my order. Both girls in the front were coughing… at least into their elbows but right over the food.
I ordered a steakhouse chopped salad and sweet potatoes. The pic is what I got vs what I ordered. They were out of all the dressings I wanted. Put a piece of very dry, old salmon on top… when I pointed it that I didn’t order the salmon she placed it back and didn’t check if the correct protein was there. Asked again and she said there is 1 scoop of steak. I said I didn’t see any. Get home there is 2 pieces of very small cubes of steak as if it accidentally fell in and they completely forgot to add blue cheese, crispy onions This is for $16.
The sweet potatoes are terrible looking. Definitely not worth $5. What a rip off and scam this place is. Especially after the coughing and quality, I just pitched this into the trash where this whole place belongs.
What a disappointing add to this shopping center. It doesn’t help that this corner is a death zone for any place that occupies this spot. So this will be closed soon enough...
