Irene's Cake & Candy Supply — Restaurant in Dalton

I have never had a cake from here, and I never plan on it from the experience I had with the owners husband yesterday. I was parked in between billy Willis photography and Irene’s cake shop, waiting for billy to come to his shop so I could get my pictures. As my friend ran in to get our pictures, I sat out in the car with her baby since it was raining. As I’m sitting in the driver seat holding her 4 month old baby, a man approaches my window. I crack my door open and he proceeds to tell me that I’m in his wife’s parking for her business. First off I am in the middle of two businesses and second, they own no rights to any of the parking there. I tell the man I didn’t realize this was just her parking spot and I was getting some pictures that I would be leaving In just a minute, as I pull my door shut he slams my door angrily. I open my door back up to tell him to not slam my door and he turns around and slams my door on me as hard as he could that my car shook and he just stood there and stared at me with the meanest face. I have never had or seen a grown man that owns a place of business act like that. To beat it all my pictures ended up being in his wife’s cake shop, I had to get my friend to go get them because I was too scared of the man. Irene really needs to get her husband under control before he goes to jail one day or it ruins her place of business. To beat it all while I was waiting before I had the baby in my lap, I was looking in the shop thinking about going in to see what all they had before I left. NOPE. I plan on informing everybody I know how awful of a man the part owner is. @brookewheat I wrote this the day it happened and when I wrote it I was very shook. I typed out cracked window but there was def no cracked window because he did slam my door on me. I understand she would like to keep parking for her customers, but I was not parked directly in front of her business and there was 2-3 parking places open to the right of me. I was not rude at all to him and told him I was just about to move and he acted like a over grown toddler. Do not use this place! We've dealt with them for the last 3 years. The first year, the cake was great! Second year the picture my son had chosen was PJ masks that Irene's said they would somehow print and place on the cake! It was very faded and tasted horrible! This year is my daughters 1st birthday, so me and my wife ordered a Minnie Mouse cake in the shape of a 1 and a small white smash cake with pink polka dots and paid $44. When I got there to pick the cakes up, the woman said she had forgotten the smash cake so I would have to wait for it. Then she told me that it would be $40 and I told her my wife had already paid for it. With my wife having the receipt all the way in Lafayette I was forced to pay again cause I wouldn't have time to run all the way home and back before the party started. With all the commotion, I failed to realize that Irene's had put a "1" candle on the smash cake instead of the Minnie Mouse toy we had ordered until I got home and my wife had realized it. So thanks Irene's for "trying" your best to ruin my daughters...
