My recent visit to Panera Bread felt less like a casual dining experience and more like a scene from a sitcom gone wrong. Picture this: a hungry family, fresh from a cinematic adventure, eagerly anticipating a sandwich from their online order. Cue the record scratch. The order wasn't ready, but hey, no biggie, right? I am a patient and understanding person. I can wait.
The real drama unfolded when we discovered a key player missing—a $14 sandwich had mysteriously vanished. Informing the staff felt like interrupting a tense board meeting, with their exasperated sighs and eye rolls serving as the main course. After what felt like an eternity (or 10 minutes, to be precise), the missing sandwich finally arrived. Off we go because we have a 30-minute drive home, and I have so much stuff to do when I get there!
But wait! The grand finale came at home, where the remaining sandwiches revealed themselves, looking like they had all been assembled by a toddler on a sugar high. It seems the Panera Bread culinary team had taken a page from abstract art, leaving us to decipher their edible disasters.
Needless to say, the combination of lackluster service and culinary chaos left us yearning for the greener pastures (and tastier sandwiches) of Schlotzsky's.
Perhaps Panera Bread should consider adding a laugh track to their menu, because this experience was nothing short of comical – in the most disappointing...
Read moreWe did not have a good experience ordering from this panera during a road trip.
While traveling, we ordered online from there for a fast pick up, asking for no cheese in one of the dishes. Unfortunately the request was not observed, maybe an error on the ordering website? Thinking it was a website error, we got back in and payed for a new order of the same request with the cashier, asking for not cheese. Again, after waiting for 15 minutes, the second order came with cheese. :/ Then we went back into the store a third time, asked for a replacement and had to wait another 10 min for the order to get ready.
So, in the end, what we expected to be a quick stop, took us a long time and exposed us to increased chances of contracting covid as many costumers there were allowed in the store...
Read moreAround 7pm & everything went wrong. Made special trip for French dipper. They were out of au jus. HOW? Disappointed, I ordered roast beef & cheese. Cashier didn't charge me for my drink. 😁 She added chips without asking me. I always get the bread, not chips. I was able to tell the kitchen staff my preference & they obliged. Ordered Papaya green tea. They were out of that, too. However, they did make some & bring it out. 😁 Got 2 Asiago cheese bagels to have the next day. I said I don't like plain cream cheese & she said ok we have honey walnut. YES, my favorite. The next morning, I found 2 plain cream cheese in the bagel bag. 😒 Maybe my cashier didn't like me. I don't know. I must say I have never had a bad Panera experience before & this really didn't discourage me...
