I have been here for breakfast and lunch in the past; which were fine. However, a recent dinner on a Saturday night was not that great at least for two of us.
Got a table for 5 near the back banquet room. About twenty minutes in, a large group ended up coming in and instead of having the table farther away from us, against the back wall - the staff sat them right next to our booth when they pushed the banquet doors open. Nobody else was sat in the room and would have been logistically better to put them on a table along the back wall.
After ordering the calamari, it came out within three or so minutes. That was interestingly fast. The bread and butter was good.
Two of us ordered the prime rib special while the others had a pasta dish, orzo/salmon and a salmon salad. The last three dishes mentioned were fine for the folks eating it, no complaints.
However, the two prime rib specials were not that great. The loaded potatoes (without sour cream?) appeared overcooked, cold and couldn’t figure out if it was premade and sat in a hot box. The prime rib had a lot of fat and bland. Asparagus was crunchy.
Those prime rib dinners were $50 each and certainly not worth it for that price. No salad came with it and didn’t know how crazy expensive it was until check came. Server should have potentially announced the price (would not have expected that high of price for the dish - see photo). I will not order that again. Unfortunately, the server never came by until after we had completed eating, and I didn’t get to order sour cream or perhaps, talk about the prime rib.
When we paid our bill and looked at it closer, I realized that the mocktail (alcohol special drink without the alcohol) - we were charged the “alcohol price”, $14. It came in a small glass and one would think without alcohol, the price would be discounted.
The bill was over $200 before the tip. Pricey. Will try dinner again, maybe….but will not order the prime rib, calamari and a mocktail. And ask about special costs and flag the server sooner for...
Read moreI've been going here since I was little. It's been a while since I've been here. The place was pretty busy as usual. Upon entering, it looks like the place recently had a remodel. The inside dining looks a lot bigger and the lighting is way brighter. The decor was simple and modern, but very inviting.
We were greeted and seated right away. Once seated, we were immediately offered drinks and was given a few minutes prior to ordering.
We ordered:
Country fried steak and eggs - The country fried steak was well battered and crispy. Hashbrowns were crispy and soft in the middle.
John Daly with no tomatoes - The scramble was hearty and flavorful.
Joe's special - Perfect balance of parmesan cheese, groud beef, spinach, and mushroom in every bite. This was pretty huge that I had food for later
2x2x2 - Ham with scrambled eggs and pancakes. This came with a huge piece of ham. My only disappointment is I wish it came with hash browns.
Swedish pancakes - I loved the crunchy edges and the lingonberry butter. Honestly, this was more than enough. I ordered a side of bacon which I ended up sharing with the family
The food here has always been good whether it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only downside is the parking lot is small and gets full fast. Highly recommend this place and haven't had anything here that I didn't like.
Haven't been here in a long time. Typically, I go here for breakfast. This time around we had lunch. The menu looked a little thin, then I remember.
Calamari- Crispy and light Special (spinach dip w/ cheese)- delicious and cheesy. Goes well with the chips provided and bread. Jalapeno mac n cheese - cheesy goodness with the right amount of kick BLT- pretty standard but bacon is delicious. Chicken asiago- it's like a chicken parm with a side of pasta which is delicious.
Typically we go for the country fried steak and eggs and corn beef hash. Which I...
Read moreI’ve been here several times and in the past really enjoyed it but today was different. It wasn’t busy at all. I debated between the shrimp scampi and the special of the day which was three skewers one of each chicken, shrimp & scallop w/ fresh veggies and rice . The flavor was ok but not outstanding. I overheard the table behind us complaining about up charges to his tab for exchanging one item for another and being charged full price for the other. He talked to the manager about his disappointment and she removed some of the charges but not all of them. He was floored over the cost of his bill. That made me take a closer look at me bill when it came. I was shocked to see that my meal was $40 ! It certainly wasn’t a $40 meal by any stretch. The server was the one that swayed me into having the special as it’s not offered often. The scampi has half the price. Had I known that the special was $40 I would not have ordered it. This was the problem with the other table as well . The server never mentioned the up charges. I agree that sometime there needs to be additional charges but with my meal since I couldn’t dry the man should have said the special is and offered at blank price. Hitting customers blind like this leaves a bad taste to referee new people and makes me want to take my business elsewhere. Will I be back I’m not sure . There are so many places I can go instead and know what I will pay. We were actually looking for a crab Louie which they didn’t have. I had a new customer with me to. Bad news travels fast with...
