2025 update. The fried chicken is still great at Chick & Jajang. The owner is a good guy. I once saw him give a free meal to a homeless man. This time I had their soy & garlic fried chicken $18, (7 pieces) and Korean fried rice $17. The fried rice was served on a bed of egg on top of a cast iron plate. This was a beautiful dish. Too bad the egg is dry because of the cast iron plate and the rice was a bit bland. It needed some Chinese white pepper but it wasn't available. They did have this red pepper shaker at the table.

In terms of environment, plenty of tables at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. It was unfortunate that were two loud girls eating there. The restaurant is small and their voices protruded through the background Korean pop music. Also, it was uncomfortably hot in there. My forehead broke a sweat eating. My hands were sticky from the fried chicken glaze and I had to avoid wiping my face. Enough was enough. I took my food to-go after eating there for 10 mins. Service was excellent.

Original review: Nice. Very nice Korean fried chicken at Chick & Jajang. They are an authentic Korean fried chicken restaurant. The cashier/waiter speaks fluent Korean. I started with the #1 - jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles) $13. The black bean sauce smelled wonderful and tasted even better. The noodles were homemade and tasted fresh. The only drawbacks were the black bean sauce could have been thicker and it didn't contain that many pieces of cabbage, onions, pork or zucchini. Next I had the #10 chili Korean fried chicken $15. This was great! The sweet and sauce overloaded the fried chicken. In order to retain the crunch, I had to eat these fast. I ordered it medium spicy and it wasn't that spicy at all. They put some chopped peanuts on top of the chicken which I found weird. Luckily, I don't have a peanut allergy....

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Last-minute decision to eat here on a rainy Friday night by the better half as this is right up their gastronomic alley.

Very friendly staff and good service. One person (I think was owner) works the counter (so be patient if the place is really busy, 2 tables of medium-sized groups were seated and they managed fine).

Everything came out of the kitchen piping hot shortly after ordering. Rave reviews on taste and quality from the better half. I had the boneless soy garlic chicken and it was very good.

Taste and quality reminded me of another large similar chain that offers the exact fare a little further south. However, this recipe was tweaked and had more of a homemade quality that I liked.

Also of note, the owners (mom and pop type) appear to be honest, hardworking folks who aren't screwing over their customers by price gouging when it comes time to settle the bil.

When the receipt came, I noticed the suggested tip is calculated only on food and drink total. I appreciated the honesty.

Some places inflate the tip by also including the tax in those suggested tip totals, that is scamming you out of a couple extra bucks $$$.

Will definitely...

My friends and I ate here on a breezy Monday evening at around 7:30PM. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated. The restaurant is quite tiny, but I like the simplicity of the interior. Props to their lively Enhypen playlist in the background. Shout out to the staff who is very likely an Engene (Enhypen stan). The staff provides a decent amount of banchan (Korean side dishes). We shared a large order of chicken, which can be split into two flavors.

We opted for the plain fried chicken and Honey & Cheese chicken. Our orders were ready within 15 minutes. Both flavors were crunchy, but the Honey & Cheese Chicken stood out in terms of its texture, the powdered cheese and the sweet honey sauce. I had to pair it with a bowl of rice because I can't eat chicken by itself. Don't expect too much on service: simply and kindly flag down the waiter/waitress on duty if you need anything from them.

Also note that every dish here is meant to be shared and not eaten individually. Otherwise, you'll be taking it to go. Please don't come here alone. It feels better to share your orders here. Bring your friends, family, loved ones and whoever you vibe with at...
