Lava Hookah Lounge & Grill — Restaurant in Daly City

I was hungry after work and was searching for something tasty that wasn’t fast food. I get off at 11 pm so there’s not much to choose from. I came across this restaurant and called to double check that that their kitchen was still open as it was getting late. There was no answer but I shortly got a text saying that it was them and I asked if they could still serve us food and they could! I was in the mood for grilled kofte kebab, while my friend chose the hummus with bread. The meat was grilled to perfection. It came with a lot of sides: hummus, bread, rice, pickled cabbage and jalapeños, onions, grilled tomato and chili pepper. It was the perfect balance of tangy, spicy to go pair with the savory meat. We chose to dine in the lounge area, which was incredibly charming. The neon signs and textured walls provided a perfect backdrop for taking pictures. Husain and his lady coworker provided us with the best service. They even gave us baklava on the house. I’m happy that there is now a new late night option for me. I can’t wait to try the rest...

This place is a game changer! As a regular hookah smoker, I usually stick to home sessions, but this place rocked my world.

Their hookahs are legit the best I've tried in the whole US. No joke, the flavor is on point, massive clouds, and it lasts for hours without that nasty burning taste. It's like they're making these things with pure love.

And the owners, Joe and Andy? Coolest people ever. The vibe is chill, and they treat you like royalty. Plus, their hookahs are all customized and decked out for the ultimate smoking experience.

One of the other great things about it is that the prices are very reasonable. I actually made time every day during my trip to hit up this spot. Wish I lived in Daly City just to make it a daily thing.

Came here on a late Thursday night with my friend and was immediately greeted with a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The staff was so kind and accommodating, especially Hassan (I’m unsure of the correct spelling). I originally was craving for their mango smoothie, but unfortunately they were all out of fruits for the day since they only use the freshest produce in their dishes. Hassan immediately recommended the lemon mint smoothie and I was definitely not disappointed. It was quite delicious and refreshing. I also ordered the hummus with pita as a light late night snack, which was creamy, fragrant, and flavorful.
