L&L Hawaiian Barbecue - Daly City — Restaurant in Daly City

Gave the establishment 3 stars because I normally do not have an issue with this location, but this afternoon I did. I called in my order and the woman (Chinese) taking my order was having a difficult time comprehending what I was saying due to a language barrier. Long story short, after I had a family member pick-up the order I noticed all 3 regular plates were WRONG. There was no rice in any of the plates, just a lot of salad with the protein. I told the woman I wanted the macaroni substituted with salads. I didn't tell her to omit the rice! 🤦🏻‍♀️

If you are going to be taking phone orders, make sure the person taking the order speaks and understands English. Your employee messed up my $50 order due to not understanding English. I had to cook rice due to her mistake. How are you going to eat a Loco Moco...

It's one of my go-to places for Hawaiian BBQ. Depending on the time of day, it can get pretty busy, but the store is always clean and ready for the next wave of customers. Simply decorated, and they always have the hawaiian music going. The people who work there always have a smile on their face and are always happy to help.

My go-to dishes are:

Garlic shrimp - messy but onolicious

Spam musubi - standard staple

French fries - something about it just always hits the spot

Beef sandwich - definitely worth a try

Chicken katsu bowl - one of my go-to's. I love broccoli with crunchy chicken katsu

Spam saimin - always good on a cold or rainy day

Loco moco - you can not forget this as well.

There are so many favorites to choose from that I can never leave...

Honestly had pretty low expectations for this place from its reviews, but I was really craving chicken katsu and it was close by. For shelter in place, we ordered by phone and the food was ready as soon as I picked it up. It's located in the Lucky's plaza, so there's always plenty of parking. The regular plate was only a little more than $10 with tax so I thought it was fairly priced. When I opened the box, I was shocked at how much katsu they gave.
