I visited this diner with my Mom for dinner, expecting that maybe it would offer the same dishes and atmosphere that it did when we frequently visited this diner when a gentleman name John was the owner. The atmosphere of this diner has certainly changed, it now feels like a diner, unlike the feeling of the past like I was visiting the home of a friend when John owned the diner. The food being offered, well the menu was quite simple, not offering many entrees...I believe that I counted 8, the rest were handheld sandwiches. The items being offered are contained on a simple double-sided laminated card..it's nothing like the menu booklet of the past...the selection as I said was limited. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki dish with fries it was okay, but simple...no rice, the chicken Souvlaki was placed on a pita. It was simply okay. My Mom was looking for something, so she had a small cup of the chicken noodle soup, it was served with saltines, it was good...just too many noodles for her liking. Then she decided to have the Tacos entree, because it offered a mix or the same filling, and she was hoping for short rib meat. The dish of three tacos arrived, the only problem was that My Mom could not enjoy it too much because the tacos had a corn salsa topping which was not specified as being spicy, and she found it to be much too spicy. We asked the server what made the tacos spicy and they said the salsa and suggested that we remove as much of the salsa topping as we could. My Mom ate 1 taco and the rest we scraped away the salsa topping and took home. The server offered us water refills, but never offered us refills on my Mom's Dr Pepper and my Raspberry ice tea. My ice tea was quite sweet so I used the water from my ice water glass to dilute the sweetness. Overall, it was a good experience but I do not believe that I will be visiting this diner again any time soon as we explore the post pandemic local eateries , btw they close at 9pm, outside lights were off when we left so I used my mobile phone to offer my Mom a walking light while we walked down the handicap ramp to the...
Read moreNo need to post the video that can easily be interpreted how you want it to be. I don’t need footage of my child attached to this pettiness. I am very confident in the accuracy of events as stated in my original review that were so negative that I took the time to even post about it. Just check out the SEVERAL other reviews on this site and other review sites that specifically describe similar or worse experiences with the same individual. Coincidence?? There is a consistent pattern that speaks volumes. Also, the owner made the assumption that the others in our group enjoyed their time. Just because everyone did not post an official complaint doesn’t make it a glowing review. Happy to share if you would like to know! Your response to our bad experience at your establishment is almost as insulting and unprofessional as the actual incident. Good luck!
The man at the front of the diner, not sure if he is the owner or the manager, was very rude and unpleasant. Scolded me as I walked in the door because I had an empty Starbucks cup in my hand. I understand and support businesses with the policy of no outside food or drinks. When you are approached in such a rude and aggressive manner as soon as you walk in the door, finger shaking and scolded like a child out loud in front of the entire diner, it is humiliating and anything but welcoming. We should have left but we’re meeting others that were already there and seated. Wasn’t worth it. Food was not great and overall very uncomfortable and unenjoyable. This man had an unpleasant and unfriendly demeanor as he milled around the diner barking orders at employees. Maybe it’s...
Read moreWe have tried to eat there several times over the past 3 weeks. Service is slow at best and management is horrible. When did diners get so expensive? They do not care how the food is when they give it to you all they want is your money. Ate there several nights ago only got half the food we were charged for and the manager argued with us and told us we should have said something. However, we didn't know our meal was suppose to come with garlic bread until the table next to us got it and we were leaving. And service was so slow that we gave up waiting for the kids to get there dessert that was suppose to come with the meal. Forget a drink refill. Tonight I ordered chopped steak the plate came to me swimming in blood. I sent it back, when it returned the blood was still on the plate and the mashed potatoes were swimming in it, but was told it would be ok to eat because they heated it more. I asked for the manager who proceeded to scream at me that his meat comes from Omaha Steak, as if this makes a difference seeing as they had a ground beef recall in 2006, and they specially grind it for them and it is just that his meat is juicy.. I have owned a restaurant, I can tell you this is NOT TRUE AT ALL. Ground beef cooked to the proper temp does not leave a murder scene on your plate. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, YOU HEALTH MAY DEPEND ON IT! It's a shame it use to be a great place to eat...
