ZERO STARS SHOULD BE AN OPTION DUE TO THE DISRESPECTFUL AND ERBALLY ABUSIVE OWNER.
Please read if you consider dining here:
My husband and I went here for lunch today. The service station/bar was in our direct line of sight. After ordering drinks, my husband saw that his Diet Coke was being poured from a 2 liter bottle rather than the usual fountain gun. No big deal in and of itself. However, the soda was flat. The waiter informed us they had to change the fountain line and he'd do so in a few minutes. After ordering, waiting, not being offered another drink option, and having our food delivered, 20 minutes had gone by without so much of a water given to my husband. Then, we see, in clear site, the OWNER of the restaurant mixing a small amount of fountain soda with the same -already identified as flat - 2 liter Diet Coke bottle. The drink is brought to our table. My husband hasn't touched his food yet because he's waiting for a beverage of some kind. Surprise surprise, this drink is also flat. My husband asks drink options; waitress suggests beer and I asked if we could have that comped or just pay the initial price of soda. She said no, so we ask to speak to the manager/waiter.
What happened from here was nearly so unbelievable that my head is still spinning. My husband asked the owner what other drinks he can offer him since the soda was from a flat bottle. The owner gets defensive; he tries to tell us that it was not from any bottle. We explain that we saw HIM PERSONALLY fill that glass from a 2 liter bottle. He accuses us of calling him a liar. He accuses us of accusing HIM of watering down his drinks (we weren't but from his level of crazy now I think he was protesting so hard that he probably is guilty of that). He accuses us of coming to his restaurant and expecting to eat and drink for free, he dramatically grabs both our plates and YELLS AT US to "get out and never come back here again!"
My husband and I were legitimately confused.... he simply, after being at the restaurant for 25 min. was asking for a drinkable beverage and also just a straight forward approach to telling us that the fountain line was broken. He would have happily ordered something else had this initially been done. The OWNER again continues shouting at us- telling us we want things for free and he does not want us as customers. He informs us NO CUSTOMER will ever eat or drink there for free; we asked that if anyone complained about food he'd never comp anything? He claims that he WILL NEVER and that no one other than us have ever complained about anything.
We stood up for ourselves, and after noticing that the OWNER would only respond and even look at my husband but never acknowledge that I even existed in this "discourse" I informed him that he needed to look at and acknowledge the words I am saying as well. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that his female employees and women in his life would recognize this trait, being that he so easily was willing to dismiss a female customer and just talk to the man at the table instead. Obviously appalled at being treated this way, we'd never want to step foot in there again. As he walked away from us as we were leaving, the OWNER continued to scream at us across the bar/restaurant where other patrons were dining with families and even small children. Keep in mind, he as the OWNER used profanities within a couple of feet of elementary age kids as he yelled at us to leave and never come back. If we are guilty if anything, it is that we expected to have some kind of drinkable beverage offered to us (again, no water even offered) within the 25 minutes of being there with our full meals in front of us.
Go to Red Robin, Cheesecake Factory, Ninety-nine restaurant, Bare Burger, or any other restaurant for better quality of food and insanely better service. We went to Red Robin instead and low and behold, they managed to offer a satisfactory Diet Coke and pleasant service.
To the owner: GFY. You are horrendous and useless and an embarrassment to the...
Read moreTonight I went on a date with my fiancé to square one in danbury and it was our first time! I have to say everything was amazing, music was perfect, the staff was super friendly and laughing with each other, engaging with the customers. The manager even came over to check and make sure all of our food came out okay. My one complaint was the bar tender almost completely ruined our entire evening and we didn’t even engage with her! She had a nasty look on her face the entire time we were there. We went during a slower time so I would normally think it was just her focusing but there wasn’t much to focus on. She seemed disgusted at other staff engaging with each other which is very rude because I think walking into a restaurant with happy staff is super important! She continued to make rude comments, and complain about coworkers to people sitting at the bar. I even personally witnessed her attitude scare off an entire party and even after this, she was flirting inappropriately with a woman’s husband while she was in the restroom! She made the entire bar setting very uncomfortable. I wish I had gotten her name before leaving, she was tall middle age blonde and had a slicked back bun. I’m not sure how often management see’s these reviews but someone should have a discussion with her because she threw off the vibe of the...
Read moreOur visit was Friday April 19,2024. It is possible our waiter was having a rough evening. Nonetheless, my first experience at the restaurant was not a good one and I’m not sure that I will go back. My son and I ordered an appetizer which looked really good but was poorly made. We order the Mac and cheese fried “ balls” -they were dry and gummy; the sauce that came with it was just heat up vodka sauce. Our waiter forgot to give us utensils and by the time she realized food had also arrived and everything was cold. My son order a medium well burger and it was completely rare I had the steak and frites- The steak was not seasoned, and the fries tasted like they were heat up in the microwave- some were soggy others were just cold. I am really surprised because the place was packed and it looked like everyone was having a wonderful time. Possibly this is a place to hang out and have a drink and not dinner. If you are reading this and are from the restaurant-Customer service is so important even if the food is not good. I will always go back to a place when I’m treated well even if the food is...
