I am not the one who would write reviews but this one was worth the time and effect to bring my thought and give my experience to all. Although I am experienced in the restaurant I know how hard it is for people to work and Own a Food Business right now in the world we live today. Plenty of very unpleasant customers now a days would write a review so harsh and give 1 star because they didn't get something for free mean while their dinning experience was better than great.
As I pull up to the drive way where they have plenty of parking which is huge and deserves already +1 star in my book. As I drive in I see Christmas decorations and beautifully made vibe of it as I walk in.
As I open the front door I already feel a warm greeting to the decorations. I was introduced to a young lady which was the hostess. I have made a reservation for 4 which was me and my family. I understood there was a few minute wait for my table because it was being cleaned up from the previous table. As the hostess brought me to the table I saw a beautiful huge bar and saw my favorite drink which was makers mark. I knew they'd make me a old fashion which starts the night great.
I sat down with me and the family and saw a well put table setting and a cute cable and small little tree for the holidays. As soon as we sat down and settled ourselves we were greeted to a gentlemen, I didn't catch his name but he had one sweet mustache. He offered us something to start with to drink. Knowing me , I said and old fashioned. My family decided to order a Prisoner Wine bottle. As we all ordered our drinks he went through his specials on the menu and off the menu.
We were given a couple of minutes to decide what we were going to eat. We looked through the appetizers and decided we'd get the Shrimp Cocktail, Clams Oregenata and Insalata Cesare. Greatly prepped and tasted amazing especially the Baked Clams which only real Italians know that is the real way to make them.
I couldn't help to noticed that the pricing on the menu was actually impressive because the economy from import, export and 3rd party companies were raised in prices not so long ago.
Furthermore , personally I am very indecisive but they had many items to choose from. With persistence we had our drinks within 2-3 minutes. Mind you, the place was packed. As the gentlemen with the nice mustache comes back I told him "Would you know any very good protein dishes you would find amazing here ?" He says without hesitation "Try the short ribs". I agreed to it. As my family orders 3 different types of pasta's. 1 was Cappellini Frutti Di Mare, the other Fettuccine Alla Tarantina , and the other Pappardelle Dell Alba which was a Vegan dish because my mom is a vegan. The waiter treated her like she was also apart of the table because not a lot of restaurants would pay attention to those little things because vegans don't get a lot love hahahaha.
As they cleaned the table from our appetizers the main course arrives a few minutes later. My short ribs came with all the other dishes. I am not KIDDING when I tell you this, ALL of the dishes are TASTY and had flavor to everything ! I AM CRAVING it when I think about it. It came with very thick long spaghetti with a taste of some sauce which reminds me of peppercorn sauce which was SO creamy and delicious my mouth is watering up as I write this. As I cut right through the short ribs it DOES NOT need a knife as all, your fork with do the job. The short ribs rip with ease, within seconds it melts right through your mouth with the peppercorn-like sauce. You get that tingly sensation of wanting more. My family tried the my dish and couldn't believe it. My families dish was prepped very elegant and nonetheless tasty as well. My hats off to you the gentlemen with the beautiful mustache for recommending the short ribs. An Hour passed, we were greeted with Desert menu's and THEY HAD PICTURES! So you knew exactly what you were getting. We ended the night with the Chocolate Lava cake. ABSOUTLEY COMING BACK every time I get a...

There are few restaurants that capture the essence of fine Italian dining quite like Della Francesca. From the moment you step inside, you are surrounded by warmth, soft lighting, and elegant décor. It feels both upscale and welcoming, the kind of restaurant that makes you want to stay long after dessert just to soak in the atmosphere. Personally, it is my favorite restaurant in Connecticut. I have been there dozens of times and every visit feels special.
The heart of Della Francesca is its people. Benny, the manager, is the soul of the restaurant. He is kind, attentive, and effortlessly professional. He remembers names, makes thoughtful recommendations, and treats every guest like an old friend. His calm presence gives the entire dining room a sense of grace and warmth that is rare these days.
Tati, one of the most genuine and friendly servers you will ever meet, adds his own charm to the dining experience. His timing is perfect, he is always there when you need something yet never intrusive. His personality makes every dinner feel comfortable and personal, as if you are being served by a friend who truly cares.
And then there is the chef, Johnny, whose passion and craftsmanship shine through in every dish. You can tell he cooks with genuine love for his craft. Every plate that leaves his kitchen feels cared for, beautifully plated, thoughtfully balanced, and always cooked to perfection.
The Calamari Fritti is the perfect way to begin your meal. It comes out golden and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The balsamic with Italian cherry peppers is a must try. The sweetness of the balsamic mixed with that slight heat creates an unforgettable flavor that keeps you reaching for more.
The Insalata di Arugula is refreshing and full of flavor. The peppery arugula is tossed with creamy goat cheese, tart craisins, and juicy mangoes, all tied together with a light raspberry vinaigrette. It is simple yet elegant, and perfectly balanced.
The Pollo Burrata is one of my absolute favorites. The breaded chicken breast is topped with soft, melting burrata cheese and served with your choice of marinara or vodka sauce. I personally prefer the marinara. The burrata melts beautifully into the sauce, creating a creamy and tangy combination that is truly memorable.
The Pollo Martini is another dish you cannot miss. The boneless chicken breast is dipped in Reggiano Parmigiano cheese and finished in a white wine and lemon sauce. It is delicate and full of brightness, with tender chicken and a buttery finish that feels comforting yet refined.
The Vitello Della defines indulgence. The veal scaloppini is topped with fresh crab meat and melted fontina cheese, finished in a rich marsala wine sauce. The flavors are deep, balanced, and absolutely delicious, with the sweetness of the marsala perfectly complementing the savory crab and cheese.
And finally, the Bistecca Gorgonzola is a true showstopper. A perfectly cooked New York strip topped with melted gorgonzola, mushrooms, and marsala wine sauce. The combination of tender steak, creamy gorgonzola, and earthy mushrooms creates a dish that you will think about long after the meal is over.
Everything about Della Francesca feels intentional. The lighting is soft and elegant, the linens are crisp, and the music plays just low enough for easy conversation. It is the perfect setting for any occasion, whether a romantic date, a family celebration, or a peaceful dinner after a long day.
⭐ 5 out of 5 — Della Francesca is more than a restaurant. It is where passion, flavor, and genuine hospitality come...
Read moreNew review: Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is classical Italian with white tablecloths, Italian paintings, wood furniture, and large mirrors. The ceiling is neo-industrial. Service began with homemade freshly baked bread and oil, excellent. I ordered the lunch entree Pollo Martini, a chicken breast dipped in reggiano parmigiana cheese and lemon butter sauce with mashed potatoes and spinach. It also included a homemade potato chip, (but, unfortunately, that was soggy), otherwise, what do you call the Italian "kiss" with fingers to your lips cuz that's how I'd rate the entree. They make q good Bloody Mary and offer 10 draught beers. The highlight of my meal was their homemade "Sienna Sambuca", a translucent chestnut colored Sambuca like no other I've had, and I'm a big Sambuca lover! This Sambuca was smoother and less harsh tha any I've had, and outshines any I've ever tasted! Fantastico!!! I will come back soon just for this unique treasure. Service was excellent. Operated by third generation restauranteurs that know how to bring a meal together for any occasion. The prices were totally competitive with similar quality restaurants in the area. Good date restaurant . I can't wait to come back..
Food price / quality (value) rating 7.5. The atmosphere in the bar area is kind of 70's disco, but tasteful. A large bar , about 24 seats, surrounded by about 8 four seat tables. The two dining rooms are more formal. The menus are really cool, they are electronically backlit so that the pages light up for easy reading. They offer a wide variety of Italian dishes and several interesting specials. The wine prices were reasonable. They have about 8 or 10 draught beer choices, but half of them are too common. A bruschetta and fresh bread are included with dinner. I had the halibut special, which was good, but $45 was a little steep for the dish. The wife had the shrimp and scallops over risotto, which was good. Neither dish had anything unusual as far as flavors or presentation. The service completely fell apart towards the end of the meal, our waiter didn't check on us for about 20 minutes after finishing our entrees, and I had to ask three times for a draught beer list. I was going to have dessert and a cappuccino, but by the time we saw our waiter again, it was time to go home, so I skipped those. The bill was $135 for two entrees and four glasses of wine, which seemed a bit steep for what...
