Where do I start. The Tuna Melt isn't bad, the Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese with bacon on top is quite good. But I am always iffy to go there. First there is usually long lines and what is aggravating is watching the workers socializing, laughing, and someone wiping down a counter and no one steps up to help out. They give you an attitude when you pull out a credit card, the wait is extensive. But to further the point on the later is I went there one day and pure luck I was the only one in line. Do you know it took them 15 minutes to make a tuna melt which is how long it takes when they are busy. I make tuna melts myself and it takes no longer than five minutes. Cut the bagel, put tuna on top, add some seasoning, put a slice of cheese on top, and put in the toaster oven and 5 or less minutes later it's done. How is it no matter slow or busy it takes them 15 minutes??? Are they fishing for the tuna right after I order?
Also the communication is iffy at best. For instance how hard is it to know how to spell Ivan. Seriously! Again the customer service is not so good and just today we tried to call in a large order for a business and after 10 tries someone finally picked-up and said please hold and put down the phone. The entire 5 minutes we waited we kept hearing "NEXT" and after screaming hello a dozen of times and waiting 5 minutes we just hung up.
We ended up taking our food order elsewhere.
Also, my favorite is the time I showed up after 2pm, ordered the Tuna Melt and the woman comes with a HUGE attitude "The grill is closed you should have come sooner".
I have worked in the food industry and I know the grill is closed when the store is closed. Anything less is a lack of...
Read moreAbsolutely Unprofessional. I called and ordered a WRAP PLATTER to treat the office girls. At first I was told, $7.50 a piece, then I was put on hold and when they returned, stated $8.50 a wrap. Fine. I had to repeat the order several times, I needed an assortment of 12 wraps. 12x8.50= $102.00. When I arrived the bill was $120.00 for the platter! When I stated this is not what I was told, she stated "wraps are more". The ENTIRE conversation was wraps. When I called back to speak to an extremely rude, seemingly burdened "owner" Dave, he was as obnoxious and unprofessional as they come. He stated, "what's the problem, you fed 12 people for $120.00, and, were they on a platter?" As if to imply the "platter" itself was an additional charge. He continued to mention the website as I again reminded him, I was not ordering from the website, I was talking with one of your employees for the order. When he became increasingly nasty, I told him no worries, I will be sure to write a review. His response, "I don't care what you do." Way to run a business. Not to mention, upon then going back and checking the website for the MILL PLAIN location, the PLATTER, which is what the sandwiches are on, has WRAPS clearly in it!. Never again.
Its also too bad you have to give ANY stars at all just to...
Read moreIf you live or work in the Danbury area, you’ve probably heard about the hype surrounding Bagelman. From what I’ve experienced yes, the service is great, but the bagels are just “okay.” They’re all freshly made, but seem to lack a great degree of flavor IMO. And per my request, the bagel was toasted, but the degree of butter added was excessive, giving the bagel a soggy texture.
Given it was my first time at Bagelman, the environment felt incredibly chaotic. The area surrounding the counter, and between counter and door, was very small. The line was blocking the entrance and it was hard to determine exactly where to stand. With this in mind, I don’t feel like I had the best opportunity to really explore or appreciate the different menu items. As a consideration, it would be nicer to have the menus behind the counter printed in larger font for easier accessibility.
In addition to my garlic bagel, I also got a hazelnut latte. For a little over $6, I was pleasantly surprised by Bagelman’s prices, and while my bagel was just “okay,” my latte offered a nice morning pick-me-up. All things considering, I wouldn’t mind stopping in again and maybe picking up a bagel or treat more...
