If you’re in Danbury and haven’t been to Molly Darcy’s yet, what are you even doing? I’ve been here more times than I care to admit (okay, a lot), and it’s one of those rare places that gets everything right—especially Guinness.
Now, let me tell you about Allen, the bartender. This man doesn’t just pour Guinness; he summons it. Watching him work is like witnessing an artist at the peak of their craft. The man knows the sacred rules of the Guinness pour: the angle, the pause, the perfect head. It’s a spiritual experience. If they ever decide to make “The Proper Guinness Pour” an Olympic event, Allen is bringing home gold.
But Molly Darcy’s isn’t just about the drinks. If you happen to swing by on a Saturday night, you’re in for a treat—cougar night. Yes, you heard that right. It’s worth the visit just for the people-watching alone. Trust me, the energy is electric, and you never know who might strike up a conversation (or more). Let’s just say, you’ll hear plenty of purring…meow!
The vibe here is warm and welcoming, the food’s fantastic, and the banter at the bar is always top-notch. But let’s be real: I keep coming back for that perfect pint of Guinness, Allen’s unflappable dedication to the craft, and maybe a little Saturday night excitement.
Molly Darcy’s isn’t just a pub; it’s an experience. If you’re in Danbury, you owe it to yourself to stop by. Just don’t tell Allen I said nice things—he’ll get a big head, and we need that to stay on the pint.
Hope this has you grinning as much as Allen’s...
Read moreFood service drinks and atmosphere is always great, except all the people selling and doing Coke in the bathrooms. Makes me afraid to touch anything in there. Also, Pattie, your behavior toward customers is NOT it. I came in last Saturday at 8:30 PM with a friend, had dinner and drinks and planned to stay all night. Went outside to meet another friend, I let the bouncer know, to come in and be harassed by Pattie saying I neeed to pay a cover and that I am sneaking in, I tried to tell her my coat is literally hanging on my chair at the bar and I have an open tab already, she started yelling at me telling me I was lying, then proceeded to tell my friend she can pay for me and I can pay her back. I wasn’t going to have someone act this way and bully people so I got the bartender to come tell her I’ve been there for hours already. Pattie didn’t even apologize. I told her I was going to let the owner know and she said she was the owner. Which I know is not the case. I truly should have left in that instance and let Pattie pay for my open tab at the bar since she was so positive I was sneaking in. But I decided to be the...
Read moreHands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had..went went to this place for a birthday party of dancing and fun but it was far from that…it was line dancing that night and we were told it would be over at 10:30 then a Dj for freestyle music…that never happened the whole party stayed til about 12 waiting for a chance to go dance but we weren’t able to dance because they were still line dancing all night…the manager at the bar acted like he didn’t care at all on our party request to be able to dance ..maybe because he was drunk because I saw him take atleast 6 to 7 shots with customers…I use to work at clubs and bars and it was always a rule from owners to never allow the staff to drink while working but I guess this place doesn’t care..I just wished they were honest from beginning and said that the whole night is line dancing that way we would have made other planes that’s all but instead they lied and acted like...
