The pizza is art. The pizza is so good that you'll consider enrolling in the college across the street just to have an excuse to be there more often.
Pizza like this is why CT is known to have fantastic pizza
I've had the “chicken bacon ranch" slice 4 times (so far): once eaten seated, three times through take out. *Editor's Note | the “buffalo chicken" and the “grandma pizza" are items I've tried as well. They're absolute bangers.
I have sworn each slice was better than the last, though I suspect they've been the same--I simply continue to be amazed each time.
If you'll indulge me, I'd like to describe how every slice of the incredible “chicken bacon ranch" delivers.
Firstly, they do not replace the tomato sauce with ranch: it is NOT a blonde pizza. They do this remarkably consistent latticework pattern with the ranch that is light in the center and heavier twords the crust. “ah, so the crust is soggy" you may say. Nay! The crust is strong! The crust is professional!
Is it time to discuss the dough? ...because I would love to discuss the dough. The dough is laid out thoughtfully. Remarkably consistent thickness every time. I prefer thin and my partner prefers thick but we both somehow agree that the way they do it is so delicious. I usually discard crusts, but I enjoy the ones from the slices at SoHo. There's also this, for lack of a better word, and this is gonna sound crazy, 'compassionate' texture and taste to the structure of the pizza. Like, you can taste that they actually care. It's amazing.
Not for nothing, but there's a sense of heart to this place that is nary so...
Read moreWent here for the first time about 3 weeks ago. The guy that took care of us was nice, pizza was good, which is why went back last night and NOPE!!!., won’t be going back there again. Served by same guy and oh my goodness, how rude was he?!?! He was even rude to the young lady who rang up our order. Shoved her to the side so he can get to the register. We had to wait because we ordered a pie. While we were waiting, he calls one of us over to him and asks “how much did you pay?. Can I see your receipt?” So I gave him my receipt and he does some calculations and says “you need to pay me for the spaghetti and meatballs” (he was so rude and aggressive) So I said, oh ok, I didn’t even notice, I just paid. He did even apologize for the mistake. Maybe if he had been so rude to the girl at the register, she wouldn’t have made the error. Oh and we took our order to go and when we got home, the Hawaiian slices tasted stale, the pie was greasy and had no flavor. DEFINITELY...
