Okay so here’s my review. Heads up I’m going to be that annoying person but as a born and raised native Angeleno, I don’t expect or have had any great experiences with Mexican food in Florida (or the east coast in general) I’m sure there is a hidden gem out there but mexican food out here is not prevalent amazing . When I come here (especially south Florida) I will give my respects to Caribbean and South American cuisines like empanadas, tostones, oxtails, Cubano sanwiches etc, that’s definitely something I can’t find in Southern California and for the most part, most of the U.S….. but tacos and anything Mexican ESPECIALLY authentic Mexican, yeah that’s where I feel comfortable to talk and say that growing up in area where street tacos trucks and taco stands where available In almost every single block I grew in, you’d pass anywhere and smell the fresh carne asada/ al pastor (pork en el trompo)/cabeza/tripas/lengua etc sizzling , tomatoes chopped up to create the variety of salsas and the handmade tortillas from the little old lady or the man who just literally came from Mexico and would make tacos for a living, and even now with the inflation (for those of you who justify the high price of tacos in this place) the prices of tacos in the places I am mentioning are still either the max at $2 each probably still a little less for each street taco and still give you WAY (guey lol) more meat than this place. So back to this place , guacamole station, I am basing off my rating on their carne asada and barbacoa taco and corn on a cup. First off I paid extra for beans to be on my taco (there weren’t any) that’s my fault for not checking but also you had that note and I made it clear soooo just saying that should have been there 🤷♀️ Still it was only a 50cent upcharge so it wasn’t the end of the world and the cashier I do admit was sweet enough to give me extra salsas and pico de gallo before I even noticed they didn’t give me beans. Any who the asada meat (mine at least ) wasn’t bland BUT it wasn’t the most tastiest either (I’ve had plenty better including outside Southern California like Arizona and Texas). The barbacoa was unfortunately bland, bland, bland! I had to drench in in all the condiments I had. The best barbacoa actually (sorry south California) but Texas has the win for that 👌 and from what I can remember barbacoa is juicy and flavorful and not dry at all aka the opposite of this place sooo yeah please opt out of getting the barbacoa taco. The street corn was my fave out of the 3 , again not bad but not great of course I am biased (corn on the cob even though it’s harder and messier to eat, it’s definitely more tastier to consume) …. The pros I have for this place is 1) the employees, they were super friendly and customer service oriented 2) the habanero salsa definitely had a kick but just a drop or two of that was definitely enough to give flavor to anything! Sooo again if I was craving Mexican food I’m Florida, this would probably be my spot to go to (this is overall the best Mexican place I’ve gone to in Florida but also I haven’t really gone to many) but also if I’m craving Mexican food I’ll save it while I’m back home or at least the southwest (Mexican food is still tasty, it’s just different cuisines within Mexico from Mexican food in southern cali that I can still appreciate) but if you’re in Florida and you’re for some reason wanting Mexican food than this place os your best bet BUT i definitely would opt out and go for an empanada or anything Caribbean/South American instead while you’re in Florida (definitely south...
Read moreI had went to taco love before this experience I am about to explain, and the food was decent . Prices weren’t too bad, but it adds up really quick for a small amount of food. Only thing I have to say is the esquites weren’t the best because you could tell it was canned and I tried to numb out that “can” flavor with cheese and toppings but I just threw the rest away. I decided to come back on friday, after around 2 1/2 months of not going, to get a mushroom quesadilla, my order last time. It was very good, which drove me to come back. I waited in line and as I came up to the window there was a girl working there, she had brownish black hair and I had recognized her before as she took my order last time. She had a little bit of attitude last time as well but I decided to push it to the side and not hold any grudge, as I know what it is like to work in this industry serving others. So I told her I wanted a mushroom quesadilla, she wrote down the order on the tablet I assume and then I asked I told her to also put pineapple on the mushroom. I has some pineapple on a taco last time and it was delicious so why not my quesadilla? So she gives me kind of a judging attitude and says “ mushroom with pineapple.. uhh” and is practically judging me for it. I decide i’m not going to be rude back and just say “ yeah im trying something new”. And she doesn’t say anything back. As she is processing the order I was about to give her my card and I ask if I can put a coin, a penny towards my order and then if she can charge the rest on my card. Yes I know, a penny, but it’s just money and I work with the system that they use so I know it doesn’t take more than a few seconds to process, otherwise if it did I wouldn’t want to cause any trouble. So she looks at me and says “ a penny. really.?” And mind you besides asking what I would like to order when I first came up to the window, these are the only things she has said to me. So of course I have had not a positive reaction at all from her or even a neutral one nonetheless, and I really think it was completely unnecessary to be rude to a customer for no reason. I deal with rude customers all the time but I know if I am having a bad day, to NEVER take it out on the customers no matter what. It’s sad to say but I will not be coming back here, I do not deserve to be treated rudely for absolutely no reason, I will find...
Read moreObjectively: This place is good for sustenance, not pleasure. I got the esquites, guacamole, 1 of each taco, and a lime sparkling water.
Lime sparking water they didn't have so they gave me lime with a regular sparkling water. More than acceptable! Even better really so I was happy.
I ordered guacamole but got no chips... and idk if I needed to order that seperate but it would've been nice if I was asked cause I definitely didn't know it wasn't inclusive for 5+ dollars...
Carne Asada taco is Good. Seasoned well, I would recommend only getting this.
Barbacoa was dryyyy 🥲 even with guacamole. No flavor really, quite disappointing.
Pollo Al Pastor... OK flavor, very dry.
All of these tacos were tiny! I'm about to order 3 more Carne asada ones cause I'm tired but also cause I wanna go get my chips for this guacamole 😑.
The Esquite... please don't do this to yourself unless you like frozen corn. I HATE frozen vegetables... and the corn of course is of the frozen variety. I was so disappointed I tried 2 bites and just couldn't even do it. It was absolutely awful.
I would only tell someone to get guacamole and Carne asada that's it. I didn't expect greatness... just like Robertos quality and this was not it.
Update: Went back for chips, they are seperate. So 5.50 for guacamole and 1.75 for chips not bad. However the chips...
