The room was nice, the guy who is running the front desk. He was nice at first, but then you ask him about something, then he starts twisting and turning. You want a pillow, he'll talk down to you in a really quiet, voice, and ask you do you really want a pillow, or if you want to buy something from the lobby, he acts like he doesn't even want to deal with you, and gets like an attitude, you talk to him, I want to buy a drink, is this what you want, do you really want that? Do you want anything else, are you sure. 2 seperate times. Like really bizarre. Definitely was on purpose, he wasn't trying to help, which was his act, he was definitely loving just giving another person frustration, is best way I can describe it. He had glasses, young guy, wears a dress shirt, with gauged earrings. I avoided him after that, but it was hard since he's running the front desk, and being around him was uncomfortable. Has brown slick hair. But I didn't expect this as my experience dealing with somebody, trying to question ones reality, when I'm a respectable person. I noticed he did it with another person, and they were like flabbergasted, but he's very clever about it so I think that's how he gets away with it. He started questioning these people, wanted to deny them, gave him everything, but he gave them a hard time, which I think is a game to him, young couple, they had everything ready, they already gave him the card, he was just being difficult as usual. They were like are you serious, I have everything, and he had this haze look, waited 5-10 minutes, just wanted to hold them up, punches buttons in computer, acted like he was going to deny them, they had the confirmation number, but this was all part of an act, gets the hesitation going, then last second. you're good to go. Never seen anything like it. Great rooms, but when dealing with him, he's unpredictable. He'll treat you nice, then later on you'll think cool, then immediately turn, into a this twisting manipulative cunning person, all the while with a smirk, laughing and smiles, all on purpose. So I was not expecting that. Besides that, which made some of my experience at the hotel uneventful. The room was very nice. I love this hotel, I just wish I was treated better. But the other people working behind the desk were very nice. The location and the hotel is clean spacious...
Read moreCall the hotel once you have your bags. They will send a free shuttle to pick you up. it will be a gray van that says Cambria and hold about 8 people. It's a quick 5-10 minute ride. Our driver was quiet but courteous until we realized about half way to the hotel that we had left out bag with all our travel documents at the airport. Then he went into stealth driver mode. He hurried us back to the pick up spot in the pouring rain, honking and hurrying back as fast as he could. Unbelievably, the bag was still there, sitting alone outside the airport. Surprisingly, the airport wasn't shut down due to security concerns! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 that would have ruined our two week vacation.
Upon entering, there is a strong pine-sol smell. The front desk was efficient and cordial. The lobby is small. After getting off, there was a bag of trash in the hall. It was still there in the morning. The room appeared clean however the entry was sticky. The beds were comfortable but due to the proximity to the airport, you do hear the planes flying over all night. Bathroom was clean and there's a nice area to get ready.
Coffee was not very good. It comes out of the machine pretty thick and very strong. Tre breakfast was not impressive. You have to ask the front desk and you'll receive a brown bag breakfast that consists of a Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich that you microwave yourself, an apple and a granola bar.
The pool area was clean but unimpressive-just a basic pool that is surrounded by buildings. Once you go in, you have to go back to the front of the building to re-enter as there is no room key access back into the hotel that I could figure out.
There is no shuttle to the cruise port but it was an $8 uber.
Overall, it was a decent place for an overnight but I wouldn't want to stay much longer if I was on vacation. I probably wouldn't stay here again even though the staff is very friendly and without our driver, we may not have gotten our...
Read moreReally strange weird guy working at the front desk. You ask him something then asks a bunch of questions. He comes across at first as helpful, then he does the questions, and gets an attitude. All I wanted was another room card, I had my family there. I gave him my ID which confirmed it. He had difficulty with the process, then got kind of spooky. He's just an unpredictable kind of guy. Gives you a reading of how nice he is. Then next time, you get like difficulty, his attitude will always be like, do I want to? Then depending on his mood. I just think it's a power thing. So I was afraid to go up to the counter or be near him since he made me feel just really bad and uncomfortable. It's hard to explain it because like how do you explain it, other than this. So I could go without dealing with that. He acted like totally just withdrawn, then at times with it. But with this act, it was bizarre. But a total phony. He does all this with a smile. Yeah so the hotel was nice. Basic asks. Young guy dresses nice, glasses, gauged ears . We wanted to report him, but the guy was bragging how he's been there forever. So I guess he thinks since this is a tourist type of hotel, he thinks he can do this to people and they'll forget about him, and get away with it. The staff seemed to take pride in the property. I was impressed at how nice everything was. So I felt like he just disrespected the place, and that was on him, and not a reflection on anyone else. My 2nd time coming here, so he's always like this.. My room was clean. Just hope the next time is a better experience, I don't want to deal with mindgames, while I'm trying to check into my hotel. Great location, just hope I can be treated with more dignity,...
