I was initially going to do the whole "live and let live" thing with this, but it has been years now, and many, many, attendances to this taco bell that have finally swayed me to write.
Let me preface this by saying i worked at Taco bell, in plaistow, and in haverhill, and i know the business. I know how the food should look, taste, and be presented. I know how the staff should behave. This location does not line up with those standards.
I have frequented this establishment many dozens of times over the years, i have a great love of Taco Bell, both of it's food, and it's management style. (They promote from within, encourage growth and ownership, encourage good work and treat their employees better than any fast food restaurant i worked at elsewhere.)
Over the years frequenting this particular Taco Bell, i have many times received the wrong items or missing items. This morning, i ordered a breakfast quesadilla with a hash brown , for instance, and got some kind of dessert, frosting stuffed balls instead. Routinely, anything that needs to be grilled is burned. But there are actually two seperate issues here, so let me split them for you before i get to into it. My quesadilla this morning was not burned, instead it simply had no cheese in it, and the ingredients fell out all over me without a bonding agent. I ended up with a lap full of eggs and bacon bits.
Each shift seems to have its own problems. The morning shift is its food assembly. Every time i stop in for breakfast, i generally get the breakfast burritos with bacon. Each time, without fail, all the ingredients are packed into what seems like an individual corner of the burrito. Bite it and get an entire mouthful of bacon bits. Bite again and get nothing but egg. Bite again and you get all of the cheese sauce at once, packed into the very end of the burrito in one massive dollop. The breakfast crunchwrap is much the same. Missing and incorrect items abound here as well, and you can expect the employees to rush you, regardless of whether or not there is a line.
The night shift is far worse. The food assembly is actually up to par, very normal for taco bell standards. Food assembly, the night shift does well. Their treatment of customers, however, is ghastly. There is one particular gentleman, a Caucasian male with glasses who works the drive thru most nights around 11. I stopped in and ordered a box meal, with a soft taco. There was some confusion in his understanding of my order, and he asked if i wanted it in the box or outside. I told him i wanted the taco inside the box to be soft. He accepted this and then asked if i wanted sauce. I said no. I drove up to the window, accepted my box, paid for it, and left.
I work the overnights, so food is very important to me. I need fuel to stay awake on the long hours. I am a medic, and i deal with emergency situations for a living, so distractions aren't something i welcome. I got to work, and in between calls when i had the time to eat, i opened my box. It wasnt hard to open. Mostly because someone had stuffed somewhere between 30-40 sauce packets into it. Quite literally, they had taken handful after handful of sauce packets and packed the box until it was as full as it could be while still closing. In addition, the taco inside was crunchy. I order them soft because sometimes i dont get a chance to eat for many hours, and hard tacos become soaked with grease and take on the consistency of wet skin.
Did i mention i love Taco bell? This didnt stop me from going. It did, however, put me off of it for a few weeks out of anger. It was clear i was being messed with. And it angered me even further because i knew the standard i was meant to expect and this employee clearly targeted me. I returned 2 weeks or so later and ran into him again. I ordered the same thing, and when i got to the window he said "You ordered nice and smooth this time. Some people think you can just change the box whenever you want and it magically becomes a soft taco."
Which you can. Long story short, if you're not as addicted as...

This TB has always been slow. Waiting 30 minutes for an order is the norm here - doesn't matter if there's 8 cars in line or 2. It's ridiculous.
My most recent experience (yesterday) takes the cake. I placed an order through the app. It was delivered by Door Dash. I ordered two combos and two orders of cinnamon twists. Combo 1 was regular crunch tacos (no changes) and Combo 2 was soft tacos (no lettuce). Somehow, they messed these up royally (it wasn't as if they even swapped the two). The crunchy tacos were missing cheese and the soft tacos had lettuce which my daughter had to pick out before she'd eat it.
My cinnamon twists were missing. This is what really aggravated me because I paid for it and didn't get it. And, there's no place in the app or confirmation email to report a problem with your order. I called the store and was hung up on SIX times. Their solution was that I could go to the restaurant to pick up the missing item. If I could go to the restaurant, I would have done that in the first place. I ordered for delivery because I couldn't get to the restaurant. They wouldn't even refund me.
I called corporate who apologized (finding that number was super difficult) and said it was unacceptable. Their solution was to offer me a free item. At least they did something.
Prior to this, the last time I ordered on the app for delivery, my beverage was missing. We told the driver and he said I had to report it in the app. There was no way to do that, so I had to leave general feedback through their site. I even checked the button to have someone contact me about my issue and they never did.
Given that this location is so ridiculously slow, I ordered through the ap for in store pickup. I got to the store (this was around 3 pm) and all the doors were locked. How was I going to get my order? I waited in the drive thru and explained that I had an in store pickup and their solution was to have me wait in line at the drive thru. That was exactly what I was trying to avoid. I gave feedback again and it again went unacknowledged. I wish I didn't love TB so much.
Do yourself a favor and drive a few extra minutes to the Salem location - it is totally worth it...
Read moreUnfortunately at one time, I rated the one in Lynn very positively! Now all I can say is that the people that work there are horrible, including the managers !! There was one kid that kept winking at me and I'm old enough to be his grandmother. The next time I saw him I said something to him about it and of course he denied it. Kinda funny when I said to my boyfriend that was in the passenger seat, I think this kid just winked at me and I think he's done it the past times we've come here. When he handed the bag of food to me I didn't look and my boyfriend did and my boyfriend said yup he did wink at you, and then my son that was in the back seat which the window had tinted glass they couldn't see him and my son said he winked at you, but of course this kid denied it. It's one thing to be winked at but then when everyone that works there comes upfront including the manager starts lol, this manager is probably in his mid 50's which is very immature! So like I said the next time I saw him I said something. Now we've been there before and my boyfriend has had a $100 bill on him and they have always cashed it. So the last time I went there this woman manager said sorry can't cash a $100 bill not on 2nd shift as she has broken a $100 bill before! So now that because this 1 kid wrecked what was one of my boyfriend's favorite places to go, we can't go anymore, because who knows what they are putting on the meal besides food !! Pretty sad that you have 2 managers that act just as immature as the the 17 teen year old kids that work there!! I AM TALKING ABOUT THE LYNN TACO BELL, THE DANVERS TACO BELL IS THE PLACE TO GO NOW FOR US!! I STILL CAN NOT GWT OVER THESE 2 MANAGERS AT THE LYNN TACO BELL, THE MAN HAS TO BE IN HIS MID. 50'S AND THE WOMAN, IM NOT SORRY FOR THIS BUT SHE LOOKS TO BE MID....
