Burke's Bakery & Delicatessen — Restaurant in Danville

We stopped by several diners only to find none of them were open. Frustrated, we were starving, and we had completed our business we had in the beautiful city of Danville. What a fantastic find! I love doughnuts. I have literally had doughnuts from at least 30 places. None of them held a candle to the ones we got at Burke's. They were so fresh, they melted in my mouth. It was later in the day, so I did not expect them to be so fresh. What a wonderful surprise! My mouth is watering as I type. Wow! They had so many to choose from. There was not an empty shelf in there! Full of the most delightful images. So many creative styles and delicious doesn't even describe them! I'm so jealous that we don't have a Burke's in Louisville. WOW, I don't think I mentioned how every single person we walked past spoke to us. What a wonderful place to see such happy people. I guess if we had a Burke's in Louisville, we would all be much happier, too. Don't miss this place! The best part ever is the prices fantastic too! ...

My wife and I visited Burke's Bakery in Danville, Ky. by referral from Glenda & Billy Carroll. The donuts, little cookies and lemon meringue pie all tasted delicious! My long standing personal favorite Gingerbread men cookies they have are superb and quite addictive! Eating any of these delicious desert treats throws your self discipline of any diet straight out the window!! We will return and we definitely recommend! We are both from the Chicagoland area of Illinois where bakeries are plentiful, therefore to find a Bakery here in Ky. that has delicious treats and phenomenal sales staff, it's good to finally find a good one to stay with. This bustling little Deli has so much delicious goodness in it to fulfill your every need. From the handmade pastures to the chicken salad to actual gingerbread men year round, they have something for everyone. My favorite place to get a yeast donut and a chocolate cake donut. What really stands out to me is the Chocolate Delight. A chocolaty cream topped sweet treat so rich, moist and delicate that it scratches all of my chocolate itch. This family owned Deli is a historic part of the city of Danville and is sure to please any visitor that happens to be blessed with their artisan treats!
