Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Danville

Sit in the bar area, was told we had to move because the keyop was torn up and the back of the booth was falling off, I always sit there because it is the warmest table in the bar area. Waitress was nice and polite nothing against her other than she never wrote down our order. Ordered salmon ,baked potato and broccoli, the waitress came out and said they were out of broccoli... Why would a restaurant that doesn't offer that many sides to start with run out of Broccoli when it is sitting right beside a WALMART? You would think a manager could send someone across the street to buy Broccoli or go themselves. (Last time I went to the Danville Cheddar's to eat ribs they were out of Ribs). WHY Would a restaurant that claims ribs as one of there best foods run out of Ribs? It was so cold we had to go to the truck to get long sleeve shirts. Salmon and baked potato were hot but not for very long with the cold ac blowing on it. Broccoli cass. Was just edible and barely warm. I had a salad that had 2 little pieces of tomato on it. Cheddar's used to be one of my favorite restaurants but not any more.. It will be a long time if I EVER come back to Danville Cheddar's. Before COVID Cheddar's was one of the best restaurants in Danville but now it is one of the worst. After COVID none of the good original managers or waiters were called back. I had to talk my Husband into going there today because of his last trip there for His Birthday Dinner. He ordered a ribeye med, baked potato and salad. Waiter did not bring my Salad even though we ask 2 times to bring it before the food He brought my salad out the same time he brought the food. I ordered steak med it was well done. They took it back and he ate his salad while I ate my food. I was done eating by the time they brought a RARE steak back. So for his Birthday dinner he ended up getting to eat a salad as he did not want to wait for a third steak.. NEEDLESS to say we will never be back to Cheddar's for anyone's Birthday dinner. And it will be a long long time before either of us will ever be back period. Would not surprise me one bit to see this Cheddar's shut down with the new restaurants coming to Danville. Overall I would rate Danville Cheddar's a 2 at best and that is pushing it. This used to be a Good Restaurant now not at all... In my opinion it is in bad need of new management. My wife and I received a gift card to this establishment and were excited to eat some good food (maybe our expectations were a little higher than they should have been). Our host sat us down in the bar side of the restaurant which was fine there were not many patrons there, and our host was awesome, however we had two different servers; one that brought us our food, and another who barely paid any attention to us, she brought my wife one water refill. Servers were also congregating around a high top table near our booth and were cutting up and being loud. As for our food we ordered 14 oz ribeye with broccoli and a loaded baked potato, and a 6oz sirloin with half rack of ribs with two loaded baked potatoes. I ordered the ribeye cooked med-rare and the sirloin medium. The ribeye came back close to med-rare but the sirloin came back almost rare, and very over seasoned. We would have sent it back but our server was no where to be found. My wife loves loaded baked potatoes and was severely disappointed with both of hers, there was a small dollop of sour cream and only five pieces of cheese. With a name like “cheddars” you might expect there to be a few more pieces of cheddar cheese on your baked potatoes. Our night out was not as enjoyable as it could have been, if the food and our service was up to par and quality, we might’ve considered coming back. The management here should be ashamed of themselves. My family and I went to have lunch at Cheddar's. We were a large party so I called ahead of time to reserve a table and expected a wait. We waited and waited forever to be seated even though they were visible whole sections open. Once seated we were able to order our drinks and appetizers. Our server was very sweet but had no support. It took her 20 minutes to get drinks to us because she was seated with another large party besides ours. It took us another 40 minutes to get our appetizers and then we had to wait another hour for our food. We had 17 in our party and 3 of then who were toddlers we didn't order meals for. We would request other staff who walked by our table to apparently go the staff break area to bring refills and they would ignore us. We asked to speak to a manager and he refused to come to our table. It took us a total of 3 hours to get lunch. My teen daughter said as we left that we were leaving from our lunch as others came in for supper since we had to wait so long. Our server was in tears because we watched her ask for help and be told no. Shame on you Cheddar's management for not facilitating a better team.
