Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Danville

We went today, 4/23/2022. Beautiful and sunny 80 degree day just before 1pm. There was nobody in the drive thru and nobody out front. We approached the window and nobody was in there. We waited a couple minutes looking around and didn't see anyone. The "Open" sign was off. I checked online and it was reported as open. At this point we decided for whatever reason they were closed. As we were walking away someone came up to the window. We turned around and walked up and I said "Oh hi sorry we thought you were closed, your sign is off". Whoever it was that was working, younger female. was EXTREMELY rude. Instantly started yelling that we are supposed to knock because she's the only one working and she's NOT turning on the sign. Then proceeded to continue yelling about how if she needs to go to the bathroom when she's the only one there the sign can't be on and people should know to knock. I ended up just leaving and not ordering because of how blatantly rude she was. I understand you may be understaffed but that does not mean you should take that out on a paying customer (especially when they are the only customer there at the moment). Ordered 2 small shakes and strawberry vanella swirl ice cream cone with a cherry on top. 1 milkshake was fine one had ice cream all over outside of cup. She handed us a chocolate swirl icecream cone when we handed it back and said we wanted strawberry she said we don't have strawberry ice cream. The ice cream fell on ground so she said she would make us another one. When she gave us the second one it was upside. down in a plastic cup she said it's a little runny so hear and shut the window not even a spoon to eat it with. I am so mad I will...

I love ice cream, so my review starts from a place of bias. The service here is usually good, but sometimes it's great. The parking is terrible, so I recommend using the drive through and having you ice cream on the go, or just take it home. Do your thing though, I'm not going to tell you how to live your life. Anyhow, the ice cream is awesome. I don't have any idea if this particular Dairy Queen serves anything else, because I've only ever gone there with the intent to buy ice...
