Ill start by saying i have high expectations for my chinese food. Lol. Alot of the hospital staff recommended this place as the best chinese around in danville pa... I had it once prior to this and didnt like it and the same result happened this time. I got the spicy chicken and fried wonton. I called ahead it was new years eve dec 31st about 5pm so obviously i thought theyd be busy. I called ahead 25 minutes for my order and wasnt given a time for pickup on the phone. I waited there about 45 minutes to get my food, it was not busy though just 4 people in line for food total but that doesnt mean they werent doing any large orders for later either. Ill give the benefit of the doubt here, but the food taste was terrible. I hate giving 1 star reviews but... dang no choice here. The chicken was very rubbery like it had been sitting in the juice and the skin was like a wet sponge gross and the juice im used to a thick general tso's spicy tangy barbequey type sauce and this was poorly flavored orange water basically. It was like getting a soup with my chicken. I thought normally the fried wonton would be my saving grace but unfortunately its just a fried wonton not a cheese wonton so they taste like old meat socks even with the sweet sauce they give. Sorry guys but its a 1 for me because thats twice i was unhappy...

With that in mind, we may have different expectations, as the Pad Thai smelled strange, and the flavour was not appetizing. The Tom Yum soup was $6, and it almost felt like drinking warm water with lemongrass and chilies. The summer rolls’ dipping sauce was too sweet, and the rolls had noodles in them, although the menu did not list the vermicelli as an ingredient. The Singapore rice noodles were good, cooked with fresh vegetables, but they tasted bland. Although the service was excellent, we can not recommend this place to folks that are well versed in...
Read moreJohn's Asian Cuisine in Danville, PA was a delightful find. It's menu has simple Thai / Vietnamese food. We had the Thai Iced Tea which was cold and creamy. Then for appetizers we had the Summer Rolls, made fresh to order with herbs and delicious seasoned shrimp. The Tom Yam Soup with Chicken and the refreshing Shrimp Salad. We also got the Fried Wontons which had such an awesome seasoning. For our main course we orders the Singapore Rice Noodles with Chicken and the Masaman Curry with Chicken which was such a delight to eat. We would eat there again. The service was pleasant and courteous. The meals were delicious and affordable. A great choice that's not your usual...
