We're new to town and this was the first time we dined here. The food was great and Taylor was friendly and kind. We will come again.
Update: A few months after my first review and after we became regulars at this place (we even had our friends come and try it), we had a terrible experience today, both with a waitress and with a manager.
We asked for an all-American burger with no lettuce, tomatoes, or mayo and a turkey flatbread. The waitress barely checked on us, and the food took forever to come. After about 30 minutes of waiting between the appetizer and the meal, the manager brought the burger out. I insisted that it was not what we ordered because it had the lettuce and tomato on the side. The manager replied that no, it was our burger and left. When my husband lifted the bun to see what was inside the burger, we realized it was not our order. It was a bacon burger instead, and it was supposed to be delivered, as we soon learned, to the table next to us. Apparently, the manager mixed the tables together, and brought us the wrong burger. Since my husband already touched it, and since he was in a rush to go back to work, he ate some of the contents, and left. In the meantime, we got my flatbread and our burger, but the burger had the lettuce and tomato on it. When I pointed that out, the manager told me that it was the waitress's fault, that she didn't write down the order correctly. I doubt that was true because I saw her write down what I requested.
Anyway, that is not the main issue. He sounded rude toward me after my husband left, and said that we should have known that it was not our burger. He took the second burger away, and he shrugged in an insensitive way when I pointed out that we did tell him personally we did not order a burger with lettuce and tomato. Then he became menacing. He took the initial invoice and aggressively ripped it in front of me, very close to my arm, in a way that made me feel very uncomfortable.
He finally brought another invoice, and tried to apologize, but when I pointed out that he acted aggressively towards me, he brushed it off. "That's what I do with all the messed up bills," he said as if this was an excuse.
I am thankful that the burger was taken off our order, but that doesn't change the fact that I felt unsafe and that the entire service was subpar. This was not our fault, and the manager should have acted with much more customer consideration. After all, when you are in a management position, you should learn how to contain your emotions.
We will not be returning to this...
Read moreI visited Kickback Jack's tonight and was highly disappointed. I went in alone, tired from working 60 hours this week. I just wanted to grab a beer and go outside to smoke. I walked straight to the ladies restroom, used their facilities, and washed my hands. No paper towels. No worries, I'll just grab a beer from the bar, and go outside. Nope! The bartender stated, "I can't serve you, you have to grab a table, so the server can serve you." No problem. I went and stood by the host desk. 10 minutes I waited, before a young lady asked me was I waiting for a table. I responded yes! She then told me to see the other young lady. I did. A party of 4 came in, they ask for a table outside. That young lady took their name, and asked them to wait, while a table is cleaned. I explained to this young lady, that I was waiting first. She said she knew. We all stood 10 minutes. Guess who was sitting before me. Then, after 5 minutes, the young host guided me out to the patio. Who do I see, seated and drinks were brought to them, just as I sat down. I asked for the manager on duty. I explained what happened, and this man lied to me, and said, " They seated them themselves." He proceeded to say, " What can I do for you?" Ummmm, make this right, SIR! He caught an attitude, and told me that he was bringing out his other Boss...his manager. Anthony, the manager came out. He said, "What can I do for you." I explained what happened, and said, "You can at least front some cheese sticks, lol!" He caught an attitude, walked over and grab the beer that I ordered, in which I didn't touch. He said, "you threatening to write a bad review about us, so I'm telling you to leave!" I kindly got up, and left. Now, I'm a black female, maybe a 100 pounds, from West Palm Beach, FL. The individuals that he stood up for, were ALL white. He said he is from Las Vagas, and my money wasn't good enough for his facility. I'm 800 miles from home, buying real estate here, working to contribute back to the community, and was ran out of a local restaurant because I'm a single, black female, well- spoken, with a legal degree. I WILL NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN, (PERIOD). TRUST ME, I will not have anyone that I'm associated with, contribute to...
Read moreWe ate there on Saturday 11/9 around 4pm. We were a party of six and got sat immediately since they weren't busy yet. Everything started off great. Harleigh our server came and took our drink orders and then returned and took our entree orders. After that it all went downhill.. We had a very pleasant man serve us our food. He was an older man with an Averett University shirt on. He was the one that made the dining experience pleasant and we only saw him when he ran our food to us.. Harleigh finally appears and asks "Everyone ok?" After that the next time we saw her she was handing our bills to us. No pre-bussing, drink refills, how's your food taste? Nothing! We flagged her down for boxes and 3 sodas to go.. We once again never saw her. I went to the host station asking if I could pay up here because Harleigh sucks.. yes I never act like that as I am a server also. They explained they can't do that there which was fine, but one petite blond girl looks at me and says we are busy.! No it wasn't busy yet. It was just now 5pm the dinner rush hadn't started. I asked her how many tables Harleigh had and she responded 4. For the volume of guests that were there right now four tables shouldn't have been an issue. Another server who was very helpful came up and ran our cards for us. Harleigh brings our cards and receipts back to the table for us and tells us to have a good evening. I observed during our meal that she wasn't to be seen anywhere in the restaurant. It wasn't busy so you could see all around the restaurant. I did observe a younger petite blond girl with a ponytail and green shirt working the high tops beside the bar in front of the server station who did a fantastic job! She was observed at her tables numerous times, interacting, pre-bussing.. This girl put Harleigh too shame.. We will return because we enjoy eating there just hope never to get such horrible service...
