Update: Service and friendliness from some team members still need greatly improving but the food..caramel mustard something porkchops were amazing. The portion size seems unfair to the company.. its humongous! But as for everything else..they sadly missed that mark.
My family and I visited tonight and I wish I hadn't. The service was ok..the food was not. Blooming onion, too salty, too burnt, too greasy with dark brown grease. The salmon was perfect, the shrimp and mushroom sauce was terribly salty. My premium house salad never came, I received a wilted Ceasar salad with soggy croutons and so called Ceasar dressing..my baked potato, oddly enough, was rolled around in a course salt , was covered in the same foul tasting dark brown grease that tasted very old and burnt. Why was my potato even dipped in oil? Needless to say, I've been vomiting amongst other things since about 10 pm and I'm almost positive I have food poisoning. I paid around 120.00 for the three of us to eat and I can't say we received the quality of food that would reflect that price. It's 3:30 AM and I am still suffering the effects of this meal. The sweet tea was another thing, delicious but not what I wanted. I ordered coke and was given coke zero ..like I wouldn't know it was coke zero ..but the waitress never mentioned it was not original coke. She just sat it down confidently in front of me as if she knew I wouldn't mind the difference. When I finally got her attention she told me they were out of coke. It would have been nice to know this beforehand so as to make a different selection and not have to wait on my tea to wash down all the salt that seemed to be poured upon my food and coated my tongue. Needless to say, I probably will not be back. Im sure its a fine restaurant but its too pricey for the quality and the staff don't seem to care . They will substitute your order without offering you a different selection. Like the salad and coke..they seem to think we have no sense of taste..or that we don't know a nice house salad compared to a wilted soggy salad or a diet coke vs regular coke..ugh. I'm just annoyed at this location for the poor service from the kitchen to the server. Plus I'm grumpy because I'm very ill and can not sleep...
Read moreI need to add to my previous review. My experience yesterday (2/14) was not as good as my previous visit. I decided this time to order for pickup i ordered the same 2 dinners as i had when i dined in, only this time upon arriving home and unpacking my food i was disappointed after being so excited for 2 weeks that i was going to get to enjoy a nice valentines day dinner. I ordered the new blooming onion bourbon bone-in-ribeye, 1 regular 18oz ribeye, asparagus and mac n cheese as my sides. Unfortunately i did not receive what i ordered, i did not get the blooming onion bourbon ribeye, i instead received 2 regular ribeyes, i did not get my asparagus, in fact on my receipt i was charged for 2 orders of Brussel sprouts, which would not have been so bad HAD I ACTUALLY RECEIVED THEM. they were not in my bag😔, I enjoy eating the wonderful meals at outback so this is not a dig at the establishment as a company, it is regarding this location in Danville, VA. I feel like they should take care to pay attention to the things that customers order via pickup, that we are spending our money on, make sure that we receive WHAT WE ORDER, instead of just handing us incomplete or wrong orders. I will show my receipt that shows what i ordered(it doesn't even list the asparagus but has Brussel sprouts(which i did not receive)...i wish that the manager is able to pull up the voice call from me when i called in my order to show exactly what i ordered as opposed to what's on my receipt, as opposed to what i actually received...So outback in Danville, YOU NEED TO DO BETTER AT MAKING SURE THE CUSTOMERS OF PICKUPS GET THE ITEMS THAT WE ORDER!!.....this dud put a damper on my valentines day because for 2 weeks i looked forward to this meal only for it to end up in disappointment😔I did not receive ANYTIME that i ordered, and i drove over a half hour to pickup my food so i was not able nor willing to make that...
Read moreI'm guessing this place has high reviews because there are no reliable steakhouses within 30-45 minutes. The rest are all mom and pop joints. Nothing against them per se, but if I'm going out for a random not top tier steak(Ruth's Chris, Morton's, The Palm etc) I'll pick a reliable chain so I have a good idea of what to expect. That was the only reason my GF and I went. We should've gone to Greensboro instead.
Our waitress( brown hair, tattoos of trees on her forearms) was bad. She came to the table TWICE the whole time. My margarita was gone for at least 15 minutes and our meal was almost over before she asked if I wanted another. I replied "not now." She brought us the bread and said she'd be back with plates. Another 10 minutes goes by and I had to ask her for the plates. It was not that busy at all. I hardly ever complain about wait staff, but she was lazy, incompetent, or both. The whole experience was rushed and hurried. You know, when the waiter or waitress asks if you're ready to order, not ask about drinks or an appetizer. I'll chalk it up to small-town, we know we're the only game in town attitude.
The food was so so. My steak was as good as I can make at home. The vegetables were barely warm, roughly chopped and dumped on the plate like the whole process was completed in 5 minutes with a microwave. We also heard a member of waitstaff curse as she was walking by the bar; " she better know who the f*"+ she's talking too" It was so loud and clear that my GF and I heard it even though we were having a conversation. Very tacky. My GF agrees with me about the service and the food. We got the same thing and hers was disappointing as well. There were other issues but you get the point.
My advice to those in the area who don't have much choice for a steakhouse. Drive to Greensboro. Some places know they are the only game in town and take...
