I've came here a lot the last few months since moving to Danville. And here is what I have to say after a few months of multiple employees coming and going
The owner is very rude. I have seen her on multiple occasions interrupting customers and employees. She is nitpicky, rude with how she says things, and to be honest, it's not a surprise that she can't keep any employees long. I was in there yesterday and she was fussing at the newest girl because her notebook was on the counter. The one she uses to remember how to ring everything up. The one that has been sitting in that same spot every day since she started with no issues. And I was in there the day the owner was fussing and at the same poor girl for the way she was counting my donut holes because she was counting in twos instead of fours? LITERALLY WHO CARES AS LONG AS I GET THE RIGHT AMOUNT.
Ive seen her do this to many of the employees she's had the last few months. It's not right. Leave them alone and let them work.
On top of being rude, condescending, and extreamly nitpicky for no reason, she takes the tips we leave for the ladies on front WHICH IS ILLEGAL BTW. According to the law, managers and owners are NOT allowed to receive tips. Nor are they allowed to take tips intended for their employees. 100% of the tips in that jar belong to your cashiers. It is disgusting that you take them for yourself instead.
There is also a huge sanitation and allergy risk here as she puts the peanuts, coconut, and meat all on the same shelf, touching the other donuts instead of putting them in the empty and useable case on the counter to the right. On top of that she makes those ladies wear the same gloves all day, for all the donuts they fill. Which not only is DISGUSTING but is also another cross contamination risk.
Leave your employees alone. You hired them to do their job, so stay in your kitchen and office and trust them to do their job. As customers we do not care how our holes are counted. We do not care if they fill the donuts at the end of the order. We do not care if they sit. We do not care if they read, write, or listen to music. We do not care if they have a notebook with prices and tax prices written down so they remember on the counter.
What we DO care about is your cross contamination and allergy issues. We DO care that our tips that we think are going to the ladies we see and talk to every day are going to the owner instead.
Give those girls the tips from that jar. All of it. Every day. or I will call the better business bureau and have THEM talk to you about it.
Leave them alone and stop hovering over them constantly and nitpicking every single thing they do because it's not how you do it. News flash, not everyone counts the same way. And not everyone forgets things quickly enough to have to fill donuts one at a time. As long as your case is filled, trays are clean, and lobby is clean LEAVE THEM ALONE. I'm tired of coming in and hearing someone get fussed at because of something stupid like they were standing at the counter, meanwhile the entire store is clean.
And separate the nuts, coconut, and meat, and let those girls change their gloves between uses or I will call the health department for cross contamination.
Stay in your office and kitchen. You hired them to work so trust them to work. Unless they have left a mess somewhere or aren't done by the time you close, buzz off and stop nitpicking. You obviously have OCD and control issues that you need to work on.
The only reason I come back is because of the prices. Because believe me, with how you treat both us and your employees, there's nothing else worth coming. I will not hesitate to call the appropriate offices. Especially about the tips. That is disgusting and morally horrendous and I'm glad I learned about it this week because until those girls are getting their tips I will be leaving NOTHING in that jar and I hope everyone else...
Read moreI was on my way to Petsmart when this establishment caught my eye. I love eating donuts so I was thrilled to stumble across a local shop that offered donuts since I live in the next neighboring town (we don’t have a donut shop). I have no complaints about the taste of the cinnamon roll I purchased. It was super large, not overly sweet, and pleasing to eat. However, the young lady at the counter didn’t seem to have much patience. This was my first time visiting, so I wanted a chance to view their selection of donuts before ordering. The young lady appeared to be in a rush (not sure why - I was the only person in the store) so I hurried and placed my order. Also, her nails were extremely long and needed to be trimmed. When handling food your nails should be groomed appropriately - clean and short. It’s not sanitary to have long nails nor is it a good look. This review is not to bash this establishment but to offer a small critique for improvement. Other than this, I’ll return again to help a small business...
Read moreI never give bad reviews, even if something is bad, but this was absolutely the most rudest meanest person I’ve ever come in contact with in a restaurant. And she had no caring to help or even try to give decent service. Danville donuts used to be our favorite place to go before school every morning now they the lady that used to run. The front desk is no longer there and they’ve got the meanest woman working there with the attitude problem. We will never return. I’m sure they’re losing a lot of business by getting rid of that older lady who helped everyone.. i’ve never seen a more rude person than the black haired lady...
