I have tried this place two times. Both experiences, I left feeling very underwhelmed.
The first time I came, I ordered the Warrior Burger. I was expecting it to be rich and cheesy (from the cheese curds that they place on top of the burger). Rather, the whole burger was dry and bland.
"Well," I thought, "maybe it was just the burger I got last time." So, this second time around I tried the PB&J Burger. I was expecting an explosion of flavors. The burger has bacon jam, jalapeño strips, and peanut butter on it, for goodness sake. And, again, I was left wanting more flavor. It was bland. I could hardly taste the peanut butter. It was a total miss.
The food could be immediately improved by 1) making each burger a double instead of a single, and 2) not skimping on the sauces.
In an effort to not be completely negative, I will say that their waffle fries are worth the upgrade. They come out hot and crispy and delicious.
I wanted to love Square Burger, with it being on the Square in downtown Danville and owned locally. But, I would rather try to make some bold...
Read moreAlthough disappointed that my outreach to assist them with food photography went ignored, I still wanted to give this place a fair change. Their venue is clean and bright. The lighting and colors give a feeling of cleanliness boardering on sterile. The service was exactly what would be expected. There are majority are highschool to early 20s on staff, and although helpful and attentive, the moment there is downtime the resume looking bored. No complaints though on the service other than the addition of a suggestion would have been nice. The menu behind the counter is their "always available " items so if you're looking for something else, you'll have to ask about specials. The food itself was served timely and hot. It was good and made how we ordered it. Overall, it is a solid place for a quick week night burger. And although there have been remarks made on their pricing, I found it to be worth the value. We will be...
Read moreAvery gave us fantastic service and the food was wonderful! The veggies for the square burger were FRESH, the meat was cooked perfectly, the sauce was tasty and the side salad was also fresh. This was my 1st time in. My youngest son said the owner came to the school and spoke to his class, so, both boys wanted me to try it out. We were not disappointed and we look forward to the next visit. The pricing was decent for the quality of the food, great service and super clean restaurant. I know affordable is perspective, so, I want to mention that we spent just under $80 for 3 people burgers, 3 drinks, 2 orders of fries and 1 side salad. For us, it was definitely worth it. The tip is also factored into that total I gave. I love mom and pop restaurants! Odd mention but important to me: The soda actually had some burn rubber to it. I am sick of flat sodas in restaurants! Great experience...
