The Custard Cup — Restaurant in Danville

I stop at the custard cup every time I'm in Danville. Its a little walk-up-to-the-window-and-order type of place with no indoor seating. The employees have all been friendly & helpful. Their sundaes & chocolate sodas are very good. I appreciate that they use hot fudge on the sundaes instead of the cheaper option of chocolate syrup that many stores use. They also give you an option of which type of nuts to have on the sundae instead of just slopping on the old standby of peanuts. Their prices aren't bad, it's just that their serving sizes are a bit on the small side for the drinks. There was a lot of air space between the top of the cup & my chocolate soda. It's a nice break on a hot summer day & definitely worth a stop. One thing, though, make sure they've given you everything in your order. Multiple times I've left without receiving...

A friend recommended Jarling’s and it has been on my list for awhile. They have only two locations; Danville, IL and Champaign, IL. I am usually never around these areas, so it has taken me awhile for my travels to take me near Jarlings… and good gosh, it was worth the drive!

5 stars for the ice cream and nostalgia. I remember growing a few blocks south of the Custard Cup. I mowed a large yard. Took me all day of pushing the lawnmower.
