I generally don't write reviews on anything but I felt this one needed to be stated. If your going to buy a item, regardless of what it is, don't purchase it on or around a holiday or "sale". You will actually pay more for the item then you would have before the sale. I viewed a particular item at least 4x times over 2 months or so. Same item, in the same place, and two different locations (Danville and Campaign). It was the same price. The price was not bad. However, I wasn't convinced that the price was worth the item with the minimal use that I knew I was going to be using it for. Also, I'm very indecisive when it comes to things like that and I change my mind fast. A sales person told me that a "whatever sale" was going on and will be for the "whatever" time frame only. The sale was 25% off everything in the store. I initially thought, I will just purchase the item during the sale as the original price may not been worth paying to me for a minimal item, but saying 25% might just make it worth the price to sit in the room and do nothing. To my surprised, the item had a new hang tag on it during the "sale" which was actually more than it was before. I took out my phone in did the quick math and Slumberland raise the price 40% just to put it on sale for 25% off. This means, we as consumers, are actually not paying the original price on a "SALE" item but your paying more. I'm not sure if the sales associates are commission based, but it's unfortunate because the associate was actually nice and I would have loved them to get the commission but the non-sense makes me not want to spend money there.    Read moreI would like to start out by saying that I have purchased furniture 2 times in the past from Slumberland and have been satisfied with the quality of the furniture, itself. However, the delivery service, for which you pay a considerable amount, even if you live only 5 or 6 blocks from the store, is VERY POOR. Further, the persons at the store do not provide accurate info regarding delivery. The first purchase I made that I had delivered came on the specified day, but it came 2 hours earlier than the time slot they told me it would be delivered. My second delivered purchase was supposed to be delivered 6/8. I then got a call from the sales person who said it could not be delivered on a Saturday until 6/22. When I asked him to please check in to this, the store manager called back. He tried to talk me into a date during the week, which I finally acquiesced to, but he told me it could be delivered on 6/15. I asked to talk to his supervisor and he would not give me the number. Instead, he gave me an 800 number that he said was customer service; however, it was not. My adviceâDonât buy furniture from Slumberland in Danville unless you can pick it up yourself. Their delivery service is very, very poor and they really are not flexible at all. I am having to take off work to get my couch delivered.    Read moreThe salesman was super friendly. Let us look around. No pressure to buy. Very helpful in guiding us to our purchase that we wanted. I was buying a recliner for my mom for Christmas as a surprise. She was with my sister and I looking at the many choices available. When the salesman D Derrickson realized we wanted something we could leave with same day he took us to ones that were available for pick up, same day. We quickly found the perfect one for mom. Once she sat in it that was it. Our salesman rang us up, informed us of where to go to pick up our new chair and offered us complinentary candy while they wrapped the purchase in cellophane for us. By the time we were back to our truck the recliner was ready for us at the pickup door. Our salesman was there to greet us. We signed the pickup paper. He thanked us for shopping with Slumberland and for us to have a great day. This was my first purchase at a Slumberland store and I was VERY impressed. From the very moment we entered the store until we left with our purchase the salesman D Derrickson made us a priority. The store was beautifully arranged. I will definitely return to this store.
