Studio 31 — Local services in Danville

Trying to come to term that a color, cut (bottom of neck length) style cost me $175. Seemed to be issues of appt date and time even after confirmed by phone. They had me down for 2 appts on the same day. Was on time for appt. They still thought I had cancelled? Then they texted me after I got there saying my appt was 30 minutes later?! My mistake on not asking for an estimated cost. Lilly did my hair. Was told the $175 was due to amount of color used on my hair?! Seemed like the same amount my usual stylist used ( she was out on medical issue). I expected to pay more than my normal $65. Even expected double. Not $175. Wondering if I'm being charged for the appt issue....truly not my fault. Respect the profession, always tip and typically even take my stylist supper. Amazed still given the option to tip?! Sorry, not after $175. I did thank them for being able to make a temporary appt. Ladies were pleasant. Would not go back, would not...

Though usually our go-to salon, today’s visit was not a great experience. The man who cut my 11yo son’s hair chose not to cut it the way he was asked. My son also said he was rough, questioned his choice regarding how much length to cut off (followed by snarky comments about the extra work to trim another inch), and was overall unpleasant to a CHILD during his haircut.

Like I mentioned, until today, we have had good experiences with other stylists at Studio 31, but this particular stylist was not it. Oh, and there is a $12 up charge for hair that is longer than shoulder...

I’ll never go anywhere else. The team at Studio 31 is terrific! From the friendly greetings when you arrive, the relaxing wash to the haircut by Lily Hix. I bring in pictures and she discuss the style based on my hair type. I have never been disappointed and I change styles all the time. The products are fantastic and the boutique is a favorite of mine as well. Carly Strader is so helpful when I visit the shop or call to change my appointment.
