FABULOUS! An absolute delight! 5/5 stars
Great hours for the weekend. Such a rarity down here to find a teahouse with such accommodating hours. Impeccable taste in everything from decor, menu items, to even the washroom! The owner has really brought fashionable society and metropolitan taste to this quiet town. Oh, and the outfits the staff wear are so cute and cool! The tea variety is EXTENSIVE. You'll surely find something for every taste. From milk oolong to mate (that's right, they serve mate here!) - they've got it all. The blends are thoughtful with some being more pastry-like and others more refreshing and floral. Pricing is very reasonable. Staff is lovely.
I do wish that there were more seating areas, but this a small to medium sized shop. The mood is reminiscent of dark academia or a writer's club.
My favorites were Snap Apple Night, High Mountain, Goddess of the Sky, and Sencha Kyoto Rose - I enjoy the lighter teas iced to bring out their refreshing and light properties.
As a bonus, they also sell traditional Palestinian olive oil soap here - what a rarity! I've bought some during my world travels, but never expected to find it so close to home.
Truly a wonderful tea shop that stands out as cool and niche without being...
Read moreA Most Agreeable Afternoon Tea at The Hawthorn in Daphne, AL! Pray, allow me to convey the most charming experience I recently had at The Hawthorn in Daphne. 'Tis a truly elegant establishment, offering an afternoon tea of the highest caliber, and the caretakers thereof were most excellent, ensuring every comfort and satisfaction. Our repast was nought short of delightful. The Cucumber Sandwiches, accompanied by their "Drunken Tomatoes," proved remarkably refreshing, whilst the Butter Croissants were a marvel of flakiness. We were particularly intrigued by the Masala Chai Cheese Danish, a most novel and pleasing confection. For those with a more substantial appetite, the warm and unctuous Brie Toastie was a veritable triumph. And, as befits such an occasion, the sweet course did not disappoint: delicate Macarons and the silken Potted Cream brought our culinary journey to a most felicitous close. The selection of teas was ample and well-chosen, and for my part, I must personally commend the Red Netty Tea; its rich and earthy notes were truly captivating. The service, I must commend, was most attentive and courteous. Should you find yourselves in Daphne and in want of a refined and memorable outing, I heartily commend The Hawthorn for your...

This tea shop is a total vibe!! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and ultra cool. Whether you're into hot or iced teas, they absolutely nail it every time. Each brew is fragrant, and thoughtfully prepared. Definitely not your average cup!
The food menu is just as impressive. It's creative, fresh, and full of flavor. It's clear they put just as much care into their dishes as they do their teas. I came for a quick sip and ended up staying for a few bites as well (the Thai tea tiramisu...no regrets). This place has date night stop written all over it.
They’ve also curated an amazing selection of vintage and antique books, plus one of a kind items you won’t find anywhere else. It’s part tea house, part treasure hunt.
But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Friendly & knowledgeable, they make you feel welcome whether you're a tea connoisseur or just tea-curious.
This place will quickly become my go to. I cannot believe we have this in Daphne. Don’t...
