I'm a Vietnamese American and I've traveled all around the world to South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and China. I've also visited California (I was born there) multiple times and tasted their famous Korean Town sustenance ranging from Kimchi, Bibimbap, and the like - no where else has better tasting Korean cuisine than From the Seoul's varying menu and it's located in North Dartmouth on the East Coast of all things. "How would a small random Korean Restaurant fair compare to the rest of the world", I wondered. Turns out, they do just fine and if not, better. I'm always extremely satisfied with their friendly customer service, the ability to choose my own seating (it says to do so on a sign right after entering, no need to haggle with the waiter for THAT spot), and lastly, the quality of their food. I KNOW what good tasting Korean food is (heck, I cook them myself) and From the Seoul really delivers. And as for the other person's very exceptional 1 star review complaining about the "wobbly" tables which may have something to do with one's physique, and the "sticky rice", that level of texture is actually very hard to achieve consistently and is actually prized by most Asians. I guarantee you if you go to any store like Stop n Shop, Shaws, BJs, etc you could buy any of their rice brands, try to cook it yourself, and you'll never have the soft, sticky rice texture. Sticky rice is good because it helps absorb all the flavors of the dish including the sauce. It also makes for eating with chop-sticks, the primary Asian utensil, more convenient. By the way, their price is EXTREMELY REASONABLE and the amount of food they serve leaves enough...
Read moreThis place was really good! Service was kinda bad for how slow they were, but the server was friendly enough. Maybe he was new...? He was nice and quick to get what we asked when we stopped him to ask for something, but kept walking passed our table, not really checking on us to see if we needed anything, quite a few times I did. I mean, it seemed like he was trying, but I guess he was more preoccupied by the bigger table with the child. I want to give it 3 stars for the service, but how good the food was, made up for it. Quant little place, not fancy or that pretty inside, kinda drab, but nice enough still to have an enjoyable dinner. I'm not from the area, so maybe I'm just used to more attentive servers in Michigan? The Kimchi was amazing, both the cabbage and the radish! I was told they make it themselves, I got some to take with me! My friend got the pork ribs and he said it was cooked and seasoned really well!
If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely...
Read moreEasily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The waiting time for a table was reasonable given how busy it was, but the staff was very lovely and made sure we felt comfortable and well looked after. When my friend was overwhelmed with the Korean dishes (she’s never been to a Korean restaurant before), the amazing lady waiting our table helped her a lot by describing the dishes and being super patient with her until my friend finally knew what to order. The food was heavenly good - my tastebuds have never been happier. They also played lots of kpop music videos on the TV which had me fight my urge to dance along HARD hahaha Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I’m so gutted I found this cute place on the last day of my vacation 😭 Might just book another flight to the US just to come back. Just kidding. Or am I? 👀 Anyways, highlight of my US trip foodwise! 5 stars...
