Hungry Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Dartmouth is not just a great restaurant, it is an experience! This is a destination restaurant not only for people who love Korean food, but for diners who wish to experience Korean style dining. No reservations are allowed but worth the wait!
From the time you sit at your table, the staff will not rush you out the door, In fact, your party has the table for two hours of an all you can eat Korean BBQ, Hot Pot or both, with a Buffet/Salad bar.
You order your uncooked items at your table using a tablet with a photo of each major ingredient. Want to order more of each item? No problem! Just increase the number you wish for the item and on average, you will see your main ingredient be delivered in about two to three minutes!
A sheet with pictures of all the food items listed and a drink menu is also given to you when you are seated. New to this experience? Tell your server and ask how to cook on the BBQ/pot system. It is easy and don't forget to use butter or oil while BBQing!
From seafood to beef, chicken, pork, marinated or not, vegetables and more, it is all available to you and it is all fresh. It is all you can eat. Just remember to order only what you can eat because there is a penalty for wasting food.
Although your food will be served by an army of employees because of the need for speed, the person who seated you will be close by to monitor the situation and provide any needed assistance. Our hostess was Nind and she is a five Star employee!!!
Koreans are noted for their high standard of quality food and a diet that is clean. At the buffet, you'll find Alaskan king crab and other specialty foods such as multiple different Kimchi's, and a variety of fresh fruits for your enjoyment. Between the menu and the buffet line, there are also plenty of vegetarian choices. For vegetarians, may I suggest the Hot Pot with Miso soup, the Hot Pot menu items and the buffet line?
To finish off the buffet line there are freshly cut finely chopped scallions, sesame seeds, and other items to add to your dish once back at your table. There are multiple sauces for you to choose to also bring back with you. Look for the plates located on a shelf below the buffet line and the bowls and silverware are at one end.
Need a clean BBQ griddle? Ask your server and it will be replaced very fast. Don't know how much time you have left? The time you sat down at the table will be displayed on the Tablet.
Enjoy your experience!!! Please keep in mind that two hours is plenty of time to sit, relax, have great conversation, cook and enjoy your meal at your pace. This is a communal event. Everyone sits around the grill and has a great time!
My wife and I who have lived in abroad multiple times while in military service to our country, love experience and destination dining. There is no better and we cannot wait to return and bring another couple to share up to two hours, of eating great food, conversing, enjoying each others company and experiencing true communal dining.
Rainville Ratings: Food: 5* Service: 5* Thanks Nind and the army of kitchen staff! Atmosphere: 4* The décor was out of this world! However, too much noise. The kitchen staff who move 90 miles an hour use hard wheeled carts on a ceramic tiled floor. Tick, tick, tick! (really fast) Noisy! The clean up crew for after a party leaves, operate like a six member Indy car pit crew! Two carts on a tiled floor at full speed (Ticks, Ticks, Ticks!) and make no attempt to be quiet when placing things in a tub when clearing a table. However, to their credit, they can rollover a table in 30 seconds or less! Also, the room could use some sound deadening material on the ceiling. I know that is knit picking but you came to the right place for an honest...

The renovation and decor are absolutely stunning and the food is top notch. The meats and veg are so fresh and clean tasting, the broth choices for the hot pot are fantastic (we tried miso and szechuan spicy) so flavorful and rich. The sauce bar and add ons are perfect. The marinated barbecue meats are unbelievable, high quality meats make such a difference. Our server was Brennan, he's an absolute gem, I've done hotpot/k-bbq before, but hubby hadn't. Brennan made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. He easily explained the whole process and was so sweet and attentive. What a Rockstar. It was super busy, but we never felt rushed. The price, this is an honest conversation we need to have. We both got the hotpot and bbq combo which was $35.99 per person. I think that is more than fair considering the variety and quality of the ingredients. Lamb, short rib, and brisket, alone are enough to set you back 30 bucks at most restaurants. And that's saying nothing of the delicious seafood and fresh veggie options. I heard some people talking about the price, I don't think it's unfair at all. Ffs its, All. You. Can. Eat. You've gotten your money's worth on 1-2 plates of meat alone and you can eat to your hearts content.
Now. I want to address a negative review I saw, about the manager. Yall, I took a second to talk to him. Yes. He's a bit tough on the employees, but keep in mind the restaurant is newly opened. A lot of his staff don't know anything about the job and are still learning. Just because Brennan has taken to the job like a fish to water doesn't mean others have. A few mistakes can make or break a place this soon after opening, and I think he's really trying to make Hungry Pot Dartmouth a success. Don't let the prickly exterior fool you, he really wants this place to succeed and he seemed genuinely interested in our experience and imput. He's present, on the floor with the staff, helping and sometimes pressing them a little when he has to. He was pleasant to the guests and downright kind when speaking to us.
Give them all time to settle in, it will all mellow out.
The wrapup on this is simple. Amazing delicious food, reasonable pricing, good people, variety, flavor, options... all of it is 10/10. Go...
Read moreWent with my husband for a late dinner last night. A person can get either hotpot or BBQ for $30, or both for $35 so we each had both. Once you choose your dining option you have two hours to order and eat as much as you want. Our server Ning was excellent! She was very friendly, professional and attentive and knowledgeable. Each table gets a tablet to order their food from, and there are instructions for the personal grill and hot pot at each table, which is nice for folks who are new to the experience. The menu is nice and diverse- there is plenty to choose from for any dietary style. We particularly enjoyed the miso and garlic pork belly options to grill. Whrn the grill got crusty from searing marinades repeatedly, they brought out a new one for us. I had the spicy Thai soup base for hot pot, it was spicy but approachable. My husband had the house special soup which was very mild- this is okay because there are tons of sauces available and it didn't take much but some soy sauce and ginger sauce to bring out the savory flavors. It's nice that you can customize your meal that way. I was a little overwhelmed by all the sauces, so I really appreciated the guides showing some sauce combination ideas that I could follow.
We had a lot of fun- this late weeknight dinner turned into a really enjoyable interactive experience.
Bonus- we were there late enough that we saw the kitchen staff breaking down the steam table/appetizer bar. They were very thorough about cleaning. As veterans of the service industry we can assure you.. this isn't a given so it was good to see.
We'll be back soon! Thanks...
