The whole thing left me questioning whether this was a legitimate franchise or a crowd funded sandwich shop that sold insurance in the back.
It felt more like a first apartment than a franchise restaurant. Dirty and mismatched furniture, poor service layout, randomly festive knickknacks. In fact if Goodwill had a cafe this would be it.
As for food the price didn’t match the quality.
The sandwich looked like it blew up, which was surprising given how tightly it was wrapped in the 12 cubic yards of paper. Topping were everywhere (even ones I didn’t order and specifically omit from my order because I can’t eat them), half the sandwich was upside. The only positive here was the herb, olive oil, and peppers had flavor.
But over all the turkey sandwich tasted like Thanksgiving leftovers a week after Thanksgiving.
The people seem quite friendly. You could tell they were doing their best to get by if there was a manager that I couldn’t figure out who it was.
That said I severely doubt that there was any real training. The whole process was chaotic and discombobulating, even the staff seemed confused. They didn’t switch out gloves between sandwiches (warning for allergies) or after they went past the counter and interact with not food items or customers.
The employees atmosphere was equivalent to flirty middle schoolers working at a church bake sale. The sandwiches station was disorganized and the worker was too distracted flirting to pay attention to my order. If you have allergies or religious convictions regarding food this may not be the place for you.
We spent the whole meal quietly sitting there without a word between us. Just taking it all in and after everything I’m still not quite sure what the hell...
Read moreI went today with my wife, ordered the classic cheese steak , the photos on the walls really sell the sandwich. We paid in person and ate in store …Sandwich comes all seems well, I notice there’s what appears to be very little cheese on the cheese steak , I go to the counter and inquire, I’m told that they put on the appropriate amount of cheese and that’s how they do it , also the mushrooms and onions were essentially non existent , soon after while looking on the walls I notice theirs peppers on the photos , mine didn’t have peppers which I would’ve gotten for sure , when I asked I was told again that I had to ask for them , interesting how would I know to ask for them if never offered , I just wanted the sandwich on all the wall photos throughout the restaurant , cheese oozing out with mushroom’s, peppers and onions , that’s definitely (not) what I received for $23. *Please put out napkins on tables the 2 we were given just isn’t enough , I went to the restroom and grabbed paper towels there, I felt weird asking the help again for anything … I must say my visit today was very unmemorable - in a world of external orders and Togo services , I think something has been lost with the sit down patron , sometimes we want to sit in the shop where things get made and slow down eat food that’s fresh and hot right there , that customer should be well looked over given they’ve takin the time to come to your establishment … On the positive side , I know ownership is local, and the food here is really good that I’ve experienced before, I'm surprised with todays visit and lack of detail with my order or need to correct concerns on the...
Read moreUsually we have a great experience going to the Davenport iowa location, however, this last time we went it was terrible. It was mine and my husband's 16th wedding anniversary on June 11th, and for some reason instead of a nice sit down restaurant, we both opted for a chill night at home with some capriotti's sandwhiches. We had gone about a week or so earlier and they tasted amazing. We ordered 2 wagu sandwhiches online to go, and were super disappointed when we got home. The meat didn't taste the same at all (almost like it had been reheated or something) and the bread wasn't as soft as it usually is. I'd say that day was 1 star, but because other days have been better, I'll stick with a 3 star. It would be better if it stayed a consistent taste, because if it's a toss up, sometimes it's not worth the chance of it not tasting very good. My husband's sandwhich alone was $16 and that wasn't a large or anything. For that price of just a sandwich (no added drink or chips) you'd expect it to be a heck of a...
