Rudy's Tacos — Restaurant in Davenport

First of all, the food was pretty bad. The rice was burnt and dry, and the burrito had a lot cheese on top of it. The bad part is the cheese was like a thick rubber sheet. There was so much that it was tough to chew, and all I could taste was bad cheese. The burrito was also missing the beans, just had stringy, tough meat inside.

I’m not sure if it’s a location thing, or if this happened a long time ago and I missed it, but you no longer get chips and salsa with your food (unless you pay for it).

The only positive experience was the staff I interacted with were very friendly and professional. That part was great.

From someone that used to really enjoy Rudy’s, it seems that for the price, you’re better off visiting other establishments that still offer chips and salsa with a meal, and have better flavor and texture for the rest of the food. Just...

It seems like Rudy's is heading down the wrong path.

They used to do a two page menu of Mexican and it was always hot and fresh. Now it's 4 pages. My uncle got a tenderloin(!?!?) and the Mexican was pretty bland, and in the case of my SO's meal, dry. Seems like they should refocus on their long held tex mex niche.

Service was pretty great, props to the wait staff.

Atmosphere is pretty non-existent. The space is big with metal roof and cement floors. It's way too loud. The decor is...not really a thing. There arent much in the way of decorations. The TVs scattered around say sports bar but the bar clearly isn't the focus of the space found way at the back beyond the restaurant seating area. There's a singular claw game machine? Not clear at all what this thing is...

If I could give this review no stars I would. This place is absolutely awful. The staff here is terrible I had a waitress that everytime would come give us our pops, appetizers, or our meal she would purposely come to my side of the table and put her arms, hands, and food right next to my face. Once she came and got my food after I was finished she picked up the boat with the plastic and she ran it right by my face and touched my nose with it. So I moved my chair away from her and she grabbed another plate next to me and put it right next to my face again. I should have got her name she was beyond rude. If it weren't for other people paying for the meal I wouldn't have gave her a tip at all. She sucked to say the least. I would not recommend going...
