After dinner on this night I found myself not quite wanting to go home yet and also sort of craving something sweet. As I ended up driving North on Elmore Avenue, I saw this particular Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. This was perfect - I like me some Dairy Queen blizzards.
This is precisely what I ended up getting - a small butterfinger blizzard. I think this is the only way I ever end up consuming this particular candy bar - blended into ice cream. This was ready within two minutes, after which I took it to a nearby booth to ponder life and the space I was occupying.
This particular Dairy Queen has only been here since 2019. The newness shows - all the booths and tables are still very clean and not worn in the least. 1 foot square ceramic tile floors of a variety of beige/brown fill the space, inviting the eyes upward. I guess looking up there's not much more to really take in - the lighting is a combination of recessed fixtures in the 2 foot square drop ceiling and several red glass suspended fixtures in the center of the space. Large light tan tile lines one wall, with a bright blue tile of the same size along the wall containing the refrigerators with the ice cream cakes. Light pop from the 80s to current offerings played throughout the visit. I can't really criticize at all; everything functions well and comes together to say "I'm a franchise ice cream shop". There's a certain comfort to it all.
Not sure I'd go to this location soon again, only owing to the fact that there's a Dairy Queen much closer to my home and ice cream is usually a drive thru affair for me. Still, if you live close by, I wouldn't disuade you from trying this location. It is a Dairy Queen, and a clean one at that. Thanks...
Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews, I prefer promoting businesses, but after repeated visits with the same issues, I can’t hold back anymore. I have visited this Dairy Queen on multiple occasions and every time, I am disappointed by the customer service and quality of the food. After waiting in line for 20 minutes on several different occasions, I get to the speaker only to feel rudely rushed to order and three times in row I have received my Blizzard with almost no candy in it. On one occasion there was NONE, it was literally just chocolate ice cream. We had to wait in the line for another 20 mins just to tell them (couldn’t go inside due to COVID). We literally pulled up the spoon and stirred it for them and they still treated us rudely, as if we were a burden because we wanted what we ordered. Most recently, we had the same rushed order at the speaker and were handed a blizzard with close to no candy. They closed the window but we waited so we could explain to them the issue without going through the lengthy line again. I was made to feel stupid when I asked if it was possible to get a more candy or anything. After blank stares and rolled eyes I was told “that’s just the normal amount”. Read moreI don’t know why I keep going to this place except that it’s closest to my house. Went through drive-through told herI had a coupon,ordered a large chocolate malt. Got to window they charged me full price. I told them again I had a coupon. They gave me one malt. I had to wait an extended amount of time for them to give me the second one?! They just tried to hand them to me I said can I please have a bag or a tray. They gave me a tray. I set it in the seat next to me. When I got home the two malts were not secure in the tray one of them spilled all over my driver seat, the work and notes that I had were ruined. The second malt went all over me, my driver seat, driveway. I paid for nothing. I called back to the manager she said she’d send me a coupon. I told her I just paid to have the interior of my car cleaned and now it was a complete sticky mess. She tried to put the blame on me that maybe I had stopped too quickly or that I had a child in the car neither of which was true. Very disappointing. Now I have a sticky mess that I’m going to have to clean up or take back to the cleaners and pay to have them redo what they did. she did not care when I try to explain this to her, Brittany, told me that I wasn’t trying to work with her.
