Prices are terrible and the food was not seasoned. I saw in a photo of the menu here on their Google listing that the burgers were $8 which is why we went. If the photos are old they need to delete them. We got there and waited in line and it was $15 for a burger, $8 for a hot dog. $9 for a “large” side of onion rings that was maybe a small palm-sized handful, a half a cup at most. I can’t imagine how little the “small” would be at $5, maybe a tablespoon of onion rings?? The fries had no salt and no seasoning on them. The hotdog had sugar or cinnamon or something in it, or maybe the relish has corn syrup, but it was so sweet it tasted like a desert. Also the hot dog was cold in the middle. It cost us $40 for a burger, a hot dog, and a small handful each of unseasoned fries and onion rings, no drinks. No sauces, napkins, or utensils in the bag. Very, very stingy place. The onion ring on the burger was a frozen Restaurant Depot, completely different from the side of onion rings, so it makes me feel like the food is fried from frozen and not fresh or made there, just reheated there. The older woman at the register also sounded completely miserable when she talked to us so I assume they’re not treating their employees well if she was that unhappy. It was not during a rush hour and we were friendly and quick when ordering.
I could forgive the food being completely unseasoned/flavorless if it was priced normally, OR the really high prices if the food was good, OR the unhappy employee if the food was either tasty or reasonably priced, but not all...
Read moreNOT HAPPY! yesterday on 4/6/23 around 4, i went through the drive through & ordered a char hut cheese burger, fries & a coke. I don’t mind paying $18 for food if it’s good, because that’s what I paid here. MY burger & all my lettuce was covered in oil & black slime from a dirty grill…. It has a distinct flavor & it even seeped into my bun. The kind of slime that separates like oil & vinegar. The kind of grease you scrape into the little hole in the corner of the grill. There was NO ONE THERE BUT ME & 2 others. So what was the rush? 2 cars were parked out front & I was alone in the drive through. I THINK the cook could have used a bit more care & COMMON SENSE with his spatula when he pulled my burger off & threw it on my bun. More care like LEAVE THE SLIME BEHIND. Grills get scraped & cleaned constantly while cooking. damnnnn. I would have been happier yesterday with a BK whopper or a Bic Mac & richer, I kid you not. Im not going to slam you with 1 STAR because I know the labor shortages or MAYBE someone had a bad day over there. It happens.
Your grill man should wash dishes!
If it was $7.99 meal yesterday that would be one thing, I wouldn’t be here now.
How long was that oil sitting in your griddle before you gave me a mouth full?
I’m not coming back to CH. Times are tough. 1 negative is 5000 times stronger than one positive’ in one’s brain. I can’t afford $18 for a burger meal as bad as this anyways & I won’t chance it.

Read moreChar-Hut is a small chain of fast service restaurants owned by the Cammisa family who founded Char Hut in 1976. The family started the business over 40 years ago when they opened their first restaurant in Miami after moving to Florida from Buffalo. The family closed the Miami restaurant in favor of moving to southwest Broward. They specialize in hamburgers and chicken. Unlike other fast food places you can tell them how well you want your burger meat cooked and you can customize it with different toppings. The food is cooked to order.
This place is an institution and you can't hang around this long in the South Florida restaurant scene unless you offer quality food. I have eaten at Char-Hut many times through the years and if you go inside you come out smelling like the grill. It is a breeze to order from the drive though and that is what I usually do.
This was my first time visiting the Davie location which opened way back in 2003. You can find the restaurant along the side of State Rd. 84. I ordered the Char-Burger with cheese, which is the original 1/3 lb steak burger and I added a side of fries and a soda. The service was super friendly here and the food was great which I always expect from Char-Hut. It definitely satisfied my cheeseburger craving. I love that this is the kind of place where you don't have to beg for ketchup. They cheerfully offer it without you even having to ask. Count me among the...
