Izgara Middle Eastern Cuisine — Restaurant in Plantation

We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and finally got around to it. They were four of us so we ordered four entrees and three appetizers. The positive aspects are at the prices are great and the quantity of food is plenty and the service is also outstanding.

The drawback is that not one item that any of us ordered, including the appetizers, had any flavor at all. It seems like they don't use any spices, herbs, salt, nor pepper and anything. The lentil soup had no hint of any spices so we had to fix it up with some lemon and hot sauce. The french fries also we have to fix up with some pepper and salt. The hummus had zero flavor. The chicken was as bland as can be. The eggplant was just absolutely swimming in oil, which is kind of disgusting, but still had no flavor. This place may be a home run if they decided to use anything to give the food some flavor - not even strong flavor, just a hint of something. All four of us tasted each other's dishes and felt the same way, and we're all from different cultures and age groups so it wasn't a matter of that. It's a shame, we all really wanted to...

We just left here & I must say, when we first pulled up they only had one customer & the servers were just sitting around. I instantly thought that maybe we should go elsewhere. But boy was i wrong! The service was great & the food was even better! Everything was fresh. I had the lamb chops with red rice & salad. It was very flavorful 😊 they even threw in some broccoli & carrots on the side. My husband had lentil soup & a Greek salad. The soup was amazing! & the salad was huge. We ordered the grape leaves with rice but at 6 months pregnant I couldn't stomach it. I won't say it was terrible since my taste buds are a little off rn, but I didn't like it. I asked if we could switch it out for hummus & they did it for us with no issue. Was excited to try this spot after reading the reviews but it didn't live up to the hype. I ordered the shishlick chicken and recieved grilled bland chicken with veggies, also ordered the trio sandwich and once again got the grilled chicken which was supposed to be a chicken shawarma I'm assuming, vegan beef of some sorts which I doubt was on the menu and the only thing they seemed to get right the falafel. I'm honestly so over spending money at this point and receiev8ng whatever the chefs decides to give me because it's one hour before closing. I would've appreciated having been told that they couldn't make my order and being refunded instead of the chef peeking through the glass every 5 min to realize whether or not I would figure out he gave me something I never ordered.
