I recently had the chance to visit a cozy Indian spot near the Nova campus, and I’m honestly glad I did. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home with bold, comforting food flavors—and with a few thoughtful updates, it has the potential to become a go-to for the local student crowd.

The food was definitely the highlight. I tried the Gobi Manchurian, and the cauliflower was perfectly crispy with that signature Indo-Chinese kick. The Chili Paneer had great flavor—tangy, spicy, and satisfying—though the paneer could’ve used a bit more crisp to match the texture of the gobi. Still, both dishes were super enjoyable and paired really well together.

The Yellow Dal Soup was warm, simple, and soothing—exactly the kind of dish that hits the spot on a chill day. But the Mango Lassi? Absolute fire. Highly recommend!

As much as the food speaks for itself, I couldn’t help but think the space could benefit from a bit of a vibe refresh. With Nova University just around the corner, updating the ambiance to something more modern or casual-chic could make a big difference in drawing in the younger crowd. Think cozy lighting, fun music, maybe even a mural wall or Instagram-friendly corner.

Also, introducing a few new, playful dishes or rotating specials—maybe street food-inspired plates or fusion bites—could add that "what’s new this week?" energy. And while you're at it, student lunch deals or discounts would be a great move to bring in regulars from campus who are always on the lookout for affordable, flavorful meals!

Bottom line: The owner and his son are SO personable and kind and make you feel right at home. Go here if you want a taste of good people with a bonus of...

Whoever is giving this place four and five star ratings should really get their head examined as well as their pallet. This Indian restaurant has a five-star staff. Honestly, they were the nicest people you'd ever meet. Unfortunately, the food was the absolute worst, and I do mean the worst Indian food I've ever eaten. The buffet was truly a disaster!! Unfortunately, I would only be coming for the Indian food and not necessarily the sweet people who are running the place. So, needless to say, I would never be coming back to this restaurant again. If you truly want to taste what bad Indian food truly is, by all means, come here and try this restaurant. And if you actually think it's any good, well, then I just don't know what to say about that. By the way, I ate at the Saturday Buffet, and honestly, I don't think the food was fresh at all, and I was one of the first people through the door. It was watery. I mean, everything served was watery. The food needed Salt. I've never been to an Indian restaurant that actually needed Salt on the food. I don't know what else to say the food just didn't match up to the hospitality of the waitstaff. It's really a shame I really wish it was much better and I really wish I didn't have to give such a negative review, however, I hope that the owners of this restaurant read it, and take it to heart and make some huge improvement over the quality of the food as well as the taste of the food. ...

Okay so I went into Palace Indian Restaurant at about 2:45 and I was greeted nicely by the young lady who works there and she nicely told me that they start taking the food away at 3:00 and she also told me If i needed more food she can bring more out which I greatly appreciated. Now some things I do have to say need big improvement, I’ll start off by saying the chicken tikka masala needs a big step because first the gravy was sweet and the color was kinda off which I wont criticize because every restaurant/chef has their own way of preparing the dish but also chicken was extremely dry which no matter what repice you follow it shouldn’t be like that. The lamb curry was completely inedible because of how salty it was. I must say the naan definitely was the best out of all indian restaurants I’ve been to. The rice was also inedible because of how hard it was… lastly there was a tan gentleman about 5 feet tall with a black tshirt that was giving me mean looks and made me feel uncomfortable and I did not disrespect him he just started acting this way out of nowhere without me even speaking to him. Customer service from what seems to be the manager or owner was absolutely amazing and from the young lady outstanding too. She deserved a great tip which I left on the bill. I will come back because it wasn’t horrible but there is room for...

Reply: Packing the to-go bag is just as important as packaging the food. As I mentioned, a heavy container of dhal was placed on top of that thin plastic lid causing it to sink into the hot curry and melt. Hot food in styrofoam a/o plastic melts into the food, and the hot curry spills. Don't want to eat plastic or styrofoam and no one wants spilled food. Food is delicious, some-what good portions, offers a large variety of specialty and common dishes, but this is the only place that doesn't offer option to choose naan or rice w an entrée, It automatically comes w rice, naan is extra. The inside is fairly large and nicely decorated. Only one issue is to not use plastic for hot curries. The clear plastic cup type containers should not have curries w meat, not much can fit and the plastic is melting. Same w foil containers w plastic. They put another heavy dish on top and the plastic melted. Between the packing of to-go orders and using cheap plastic containers to package hot curry dishes, I unfortunately can't return to this place. I can't pay this much to continue eating plastic (see pics). If they packaged correctly this wouldn't happen. See pics. The host stand is always abandoned and takes minutes for someone to assist. Lacking in packaging food, and maintaining host stand, but food is seasoned well.
