Never going here for food again. Drinks, maybe. Food? Never.
I've been here 5 times now for lunch or dinner, mostly because I have nostalgia for de Verses that used to occupy the space. It has none of the vibes.
Service here is bad. Every time I've ever walked in, there were no staff on the floor. None. But they have a sign telling you to wait to be seated, so you always stand awkwardly at the door for what seems like minutes before done bored waitress saunters in from the back kitchen to ask what you want.
Once we'd get seated, we would RUSH to put in some kind of order because good luck seeing your server more than once every twenty minutes. I'm not exaggerating - the last two times we clocked good often we saw our server. Over an hour and a half, this last time, they came by twice, flagged then down once.
And the food was passable, but nothing to boast about. BBQ was either dry or under seasoned (or they were out), burgers were just as underseasoned, fries were undercooked or soggy. One of the first times I went here, I got the buffalo chicken salad. Another time I got it to go, and this is what I got (picture). It's in the same container as a side salad, but costs twice the price. It's okay got to go through experiences in order to have them right they can't all be amazing like me that I'm going to be interested in snacky times a leader if that's okay
The main saving grace was their drink menu - I have to hand it to them, cocktails were delicious and beer was was could (although their draft selection was left to be desired). Only problem was, you saw the servers in bartender so infrequently that it was impossible to get a second drink before your buzz wore off. It's a damn shame. The atmosphere of the bar, mostly do because of the old deviers aesthetic being significantly maintained, is excellent. And the food, no lacking, is passable enough. If only the service wasn't so bottom level, this place might actually be a destination spot in...
Ā Ā Ā Read more!!!!!! POCs BEWARE !!!!!! We came into Davis for business, and after our work week had concluded, we decided to go out for a drink as a team outing. Unfortunately for us, we would get that far. We walk in, and there is a sign that says wait to be seated, so we wait. I had already made eye contact with what I assume to be a male server or a busboy. We waited about maybe 5ish minutes we approach a female server and get told to wait to be seated and a group of women just walk in and take thier seats so at this point as a party of People of Color we simply start to not feel welcome. We finally get seated, and we see the menu $9 they said for some of the "shooters" as a deal on the menu and 15 for a margarita. Mind you, a regular shot is only $8. So we are now waiting again to be helped a table next to us has water and drinks on the table and we don't even have any water. It takes up the point when we realize that we have been waiting for 30 minutes and still haven't gotten our shots so the server says they are missing the alcohol they need to make one of the drinks and ask if we still wanted the shots. And one of my party says that depends on how long your gonna take to bring em back here. Our server leaves and got emotional. Party members go and apologize. We wait. We have now waited 45 minutes and still nothing. The table next to us now has 3 waves of food hit the table, and we still don't even have water. We get up to inform the bar attendees that we are leaving, and they ask, "So you don't want em?" We say no and with an attitude asked again, "So you really don't want em even though they are right here?" And we just end up walking out. One of the party members noted that the rest of the customers were all white. We all in all simply felt like we were being handled differently and poorly do to us being minority. This place is just racist and was only further confirmed by other locals on the street and other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf it were possible to rate this establishment less than 1 star, I would do it. Iāve been looking forward to visiting Bull āN Mouth since I moved to Davis for school a few years ago, and had been waiting until I was legally drinking age to fully enjoy the experience, but I was severely disappointed. The staff was beyond disrespectful and refused to provide me service because their security guard kept insisting my out-of-state license was a fake and threatened to keep it, despite having photographs in my album taken the day it was issued, with timestamps that match up to the license itself. News flash, geniusāthis is a college town! Youāre gonna see out-of-state licenses! Didnāt even get a chance to try an Old-Fashioned here, but Iām willing to bet itās not much better than their service.
Bull āN Mouth management, just a word of advice: your establishment has great ambience, but maybe consider investing a little more money in an ID scanner, and a little less on that mouth-breathing troglodyte of a security guard. Iāll be sure to share this unpleasant experience with anyone and everyone I know to make sure that other potential customers wonāt have to face the disrespect I was...
