This studio is full of interesting and unique pieces of art. For that reason I would give it 5 starts. However I had the strangest encounter in the studio today, and it left me in regret for buying anything. There is a sale going on and I found an item that I enjoyed, a beautiful ceramic mug. However the bottom of the mug had “sale” handwritten in ballpoint pen. Upon checking out I asked one of the ladies working if they were able to remove that as I found it very strange that an art studio would write on any price of art, especially since the price was displayed by a sticker - Surely there could have been a sale sticker that did not harm the piece of art being sold.
I was then instructed to sand it off, or buy paint, or scribble it with a sharpie marker. Followed lastly by the woman telling me if I didn’t want the cup to say sale, then I should buy a cup at full price. I honestly should have left after that, as someone who works in hospitality it was the opposite of customer service and left me feeling quite taken aback. A studio should protect the integrity of the art it holds, regardless if the item is on sale or not. It’s a shame because I would return as there are amazing pieces in this studio, but instead I will support the artists...

A cornucopia of creativity and a fabulous place to find one-of-a-kind handmade gifts However, on the Art Walk last night and being 83° outside with a light breeze, I walked into a hot store. The air-conditioning was non-existent leaving the air stagnant with strong odors. I couldn't catch my breath. I asked the staff about the air conditioning and an older woman responded robotically that They kept the store at 79°. I left immediately. I'm guessing the odors came from the off-gassing of the different art mediums, i.e. chemicals from clay/paper, fiber, oil, and acrylic prints. etc. However, having visited Logos Books, {Vibrant and friendly} and toured The Pence Gallery {Just Lovely} I must rate the response as a general lack of sensitivity, awareness/ and overall poor customer service. On a day with temperatures in the high 90s and many people visiting the cooperative, one would think they would adjust the thermostat to ensure...
