Our recent trip to Davis was mostly for a return stay at the Best Western Plus Palm Court but in the larger suite(3rd floor, fireplace, balcony, whirlpool tub), which was originally recommended by my oldest son but was unavailable during our first stay. I gave the hotel only 4 stars this time because over all this establishment has pasted my white glove inspection on multiple visits. The quality of cleanliness in our room, lobby/general areas, outside of the structure and even the parking garage continues to be one of the best places I've had the enjoyment of staying at throughout our travels. All staff members(hotel & restaurants) are always polite, professional and helpful. We enjoy visiting the local shops(stores & nail salon) during our visits. However, the lose of one star was due to the fact that 2 out of 3 amenities(balcony & fire place) that the room featured were unavailable and no prior courtesy message was given!? I did make my reservations, two weeks in advance, through Booking.com but was still able to easily message back and forth directly with the hotel. I wanted to get confirmation that this time the suite we'd be staying in would be the larger suite(which featured the 3 amenities mentioned above). And yet even after making reservations two weeks in advance, have been in contact with the hotel directly and even upon arrival not once was I informed that some of the featured amenities would not be available?! This floor had several rooms on it and I couldn't help but wonder if everyone was having to experience the unfortunate disappointment of barely finding this out upon entering are suite? Seeing as how our stay was only for one night I decided to not bother contacting the receptionist but instead take advantage of the one still available feature which was the whirlpool tub. Next time I'll be sure to just make the phone call direct so I have a name on file of whose confirming what.

Disabled Traveler Review Disabled Room 307 PROS Room is very clean, spacious, fragrance-free, and quiet with an excellent bathroom. The bathroom is the best thing, actually. It's very accommodating and sports a beautiful, albeit smallish, freestanding tub. The shower is roomy and there was a chair for it in the closet, if required. The bathroom is 5 star. Attractive in a 1980's way with plenty of black & white marble. Extra pillows in closet. Plenty of natural light from large windows during the day. Mini Fridge. Starbucks coffee in reception (much better than the in-room coffee) Disabled parking near elevator (only one spot) Friendly, welcoming front desk. Efficient check-in/check-out. Appears to be a well run establishment. There is a restaurant and a separate bar on the premises. Centrally located in downtown Davis. Based on the clean, quiet, spaciousness of the large room and bathroom, most disabled people would be comfortable here. CONS Pitiful 1960's style wall unit air conditioning (takes forever to cool the room down, especially when it's over 100F outside) No art or any mirrors on the walls. The only mirror is in the bathroom. It would take little effort to add a mirror, lamp and electrical outlet where the desk is. No electrical outlet near desk, or any reasonable place for easily charging tech. Bad lighting from three lamps. Strong 1980's vibe (tacky window coverings, lighting, carpet, furnishings) The headboard has a small hole in it. Room dominated by massive TV. Massive. The welcome letter says 'No daily housekeeping', but comments below indicate there is daily housekeeping. Best to ask in advance. No bottled water in room. $50 Deposit for so-called incidentals. This is a first for me and a bad idea. Apparently refunds to your account within 5 days. Underground parking is limited. The garage is small, as is the elevator. No views, no terrace, balcony, etc.

We were traveling through and found this gem for a quick breakfast. Pleasantly surprised. Parking was tricky... Quality ingredients, no packaged jam/jelly. Bread was not sliced loaf like most...

I had a decent time at this location, but that was primarily because I was only really in the room to sleep. It's really loud. There are restaurants right downstairs and one (maybe more than one, but one that I noticed) had a bar, so it was pretty hard to get my 9 year old to sleep until way later than usual. Not a huge deal since it was only 2 nights, but threw off our schedule a bit. There was also no microwave, which I didn't even think about until I was there and had no way to heat up some food. Also, not a huge deal, but unexpected as we stay at hotels with some regularity and typically have a fridge and microwave available so I didn't even consider that when grabbing some things to eat at a grocery store to avoid spending tons on restaurant food over the course of a few days. Additionally, if you're looking to have any kind of view, this is not the place. I didn't figure that in to my rating because we were barely even in the room other than to sleep, but the only view was of the roof of the building next door. You really couldn't see much of anything at all other than the roof and the blinding sun first thing in the morning (luckily the curtains are good, but don't open them too quickly lest you burn out your retinas).||||That said, the location is great if you want to be within walking distance to virtually everything and everything is clean and well-maintained. They also have a decent covered parking area in an area where parking is REALLY hard to come by. If you're just looking for a clean place to catch some ZZZs and park your car without having to deal with the street parking in the area, it's a good choice, but really isn't anything...
