It was pretty good fish. Not sure it's worth $17 for 3 piece, but tiny mini Dixie cup size Styrofoam cups for Cole slaw and cottage cheese. Spent $100 for 2 3 piece fish, 2 Italian sandwiches, patty melt style burger on bread, 2 grilled cheeses and 2 orders of fries. $4.50 for two orders of fries since the sandwiches for well over $10 don't come with them and they are the cheapest thing besides soda plus they were not crisp. Just soggy. The ones with fish I could get from steam, but not the stand alone separately ordered ones we had to order separately just because potato chips came with everything. We had zero drinks and I still left a $5 tip on to go which I usually don't do, but boxing looked good and all. About comparable with Leo's down the road. Whiteys is winning in the fish game still after 40 years I've been going there in Davison. Well worth getting Whiteys if you're spending $100 or so dollars on a meal/snack for 6 people.

Apollo’s Restaurant has been in business in Davison for a very long time since about 1975. I’ve eaten here and had great food and I’ve eaten here and had food that was just ok. The food lately has tasted good for your classic family diner. Today, I had a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and mushroom soup. The soup was not your typical mushroom soup with a creamy base. The soup had a thinner base and more vegetables. It was pretty good and tasted homemade. The grilled cheese was on sourdough bread and I could only eat half of it. The fries were hot but not my favourite part of the meal. My family member had a hot roast beef sandwich that was good. The food was delivered quickly. I have also had the vegetable wrap and spinach salad which are two good options. I would return here again for breakfast or lunch.

We've stopped in, on various occasions, for dinner and it's been pretty good. Typical food that you can except from any similar Coney Island type restaruant near Flint. Today we stopped in for breakfast and it was excellent! Our server, Chris, was super friendly and very attentive. Food came out quick and everything was cooked perfectly. My daughter and I ate for under $15. Also, my daughter, 8, said that I should leave a 5-star review based on the toast alone 😄. The toast was very good. Kind of rustic/crusty. Not like that warm buttered bread that Leo's likes to call toast. All in all, haven't had a bad experience here and breakfast was great!

Before tonight (11/12/23) we loved this restaurant and have been coming here for decades, now I wish we had went somewhere else.

We had a few completely different occurrences tonight, but the last way our situation was handled was complicated unprofessional and honestly makes me uncomfortable to go back.

So first, I called at about 5:30ish to place a takeout order for dinner for our family. We ordered a full stack of pancakes (comes with a side of sausage, butter & syrup), an additional side of sausage, the 4 piece broiled Icelandic cod (comes with lemon wedges, cole slaw, a dinner roll & a side) and an order of chicken tenders (comes with fries & a sauce) I asked if we could have extra lemon with the fish and if we could have ranch with the chicken tenders. Each time I asked for anything the lady I talked to said yes or no problem and I would pause a second before continuing. She said to give them about 20-25 minutes and it would be ready. She was extremely nice over the phone probably nicer than anyone else I’ve ever talked to for takeout anywhere. When I got there our bill was $46 for everything which seems like a lot but whatever inflation makes it understandable, I tipped about $12 grabbed our 3 boxes and 1 bag and went home. When I opened up all our boxes I saw there was no ranch, no syrup, no lemons (at all) and most importantly no sausage!! Anyone who knows my son knows all he even wanted to eat was the sausage so I HAD to call back to see if we could get them just so my picky toddler could eat dinner too. I then called them back at 6:30ish and I talked to a completely different lady I believe her name was Amanda and she was even more friendly than the first person I talked to. I let her know what our order was so they would know it was actually an order made there not someone lying about it, didn’t even bring up anything else that was missing just asked if we could pick up the food that was forgotten tonight or tomorrow if today wasn’t an option, she said it would be no problem at all for us to go back tonight and get it so we did. When my husband Brandon walked in the guy who packed our food was waiting right behind the counter for him and told Brandon he was lying about not getting one of the sausages because “he remembered forgetting one of them”, he claimed he knew he forgot one of them but the other one “he knew he put in the bag”. He just sat there and was making a scene over an order of sausages. Why would we lie about a side order of sausage that we paid for. You’re seriously going to yell at and argue with a grown man in front of a 3 year old kid because you don’t want to own up to forgetting one of the main parts of my kids meal!? Really? I genuinely wish I wouldn’t have tipped the guy at all because not only did he mess up our order and make us have to drive an extra half hour to go back and get our order fixed but then he had the audacity to argue with us about forgetting my kids food. If you get that mad at customers for a mistake that YOU MADE maybe you shouldn’t be working in food service or customer service for that matter. Everyone else was calm and mature about everything because mistakes happen, but it was completely inappropriate for him to handle the situation that way. I will add an older lady was very kind and while this “man” was throwing a fit she used some of her own money to get my toddler a gum-ball which he was very happy about.

Sidenote: it was very obvious that the same guy who reacted in the situation above had microwaved the sausages he gave us for a very long time before giving them to my husband and son because even as I’m typing this the sausages are still extremely hot to the touch and when I first took them off the red and white tray they burned the tips of my fingers.. it’s literally food for a toddler that’s not safe at all.

We will not be back unless something gets done about this gentleman or the...

Grew up in Davison MI., Apollo was a nice place to eat. Friendly, curious and good food. Seems the new owner does not care for anything , but the money. He was rude and could not wait to get on to the next person. The waitress was working hard to stay on top of a busy Friday night. I have always put my self in a position of praise if you are doing a good job or you could use a little work if you are not. Two weeks ago we dined there and everything was good, waitress great, left a good tip. When ordering the Cobb salad she asked if we would like pita with it. This evening we asked for some pita and it was brought promptly, but never told it was extra (that's not the norm at other restaurants with a salad). I went to pay my bill and handed the gentlemen my debit card and mentioned (thinking it may be a mistake) last time it came with it. He said no it is always extra, to which I said oh last time it was a mistake?, and he stated to me "Yes and if I knew who it was I would fire her" in a very stern mean voice. At that being a little put off I said the salad did not have bacon on it either. He said "that is always extra". My daughter spoke up and said your menu says it should have it, to which he said that is a mistake. I said Cobb salad always has bacon (because he was wanting to argue), he then said yeah that's right I was thinking of the grilled chicken salad. While I was signing my receipt I assured him I was not trying to get anything off my meal just informing him (if you don't know you can't improve), he then ignored me........I said it appears you really don't care and he rolled his eyes and gave me a fake yawn. This was the owner. What do you do with the owner? Can't ask for his boss! I guess the only thing you can do is not return to a family restaurant you have frequented for years and write a review to inform the public things they are a changing in the the town of Davison, MI at the...

We visited Apollo last night about 9:15 pm to have dinner, and sat in banquet room. There were only 2 other people eating in that area at the time. Other customers were eating in main dining area. 1 waitress said hi to us as she was finishing with the other 2 people, but never offered menus or drinks to us. A large table next to us was set up with menus. Took 2 menus so when we would be waited on, could give order, so I thought. Another waitress a few minutes later stuck her head in and asked out loud if the supposed large party had left, really? Shortly after that the manager came through, picked up menus in a hurry, put them away and disappeared into kitchen and never acknowledged us. Tried to get her attention, to no avail. Waited 15-18 minutes for service, never had to wait over 2-3 minutes before. Totally inexcusable last night. Got up and left. On way out, other waitresses were too busy cleaning and filling salt shakers, manager at cash register with look of why we were leaving. Were told on previous visits that if business is slow, not uncommon, to close early. If that was the case, tell us, we would have understood, there are other restaurants in area, which we went to with a big guy outside to greet us. Had a great meal and exceptional service. Apollo was always our go to place, may have...
