So disappointed in our visit today! My daughter is a vegetarian so I thought I'd bring her to get a great sandwich and we definitely didn't get that! But we got a whole lot of attitude for trying to order a vegetarian sandwich. They have great fresh bread and cheese and l vegetables so I was certain that we'd get an amazing sandwich for her... Instead we were met with only one option and a very annoyed cashier. She is normally very nice but today she did a lot of eye rolling and wasn't helpful at all... As a matter of fact she shot down every request we made for a decent sandwich and wouldn't even make us a grilled cheese with tomato. She said it would get all over their press. So we went with our only option and it came out wrong... We asked for no olives and it was covered and we asked for mayo and got none. And the veggies that were on the sandwich were cut so big that they wouldn't even stay on the bread! It was an absolute disaster. I told her I thought theyd have some great options and she said that would defeat the purpose of it being a deli.... That was like adding insult to injury! Despite coming with my friends and family for years.... I feel terrible for talking my daughter into giving them a try and I most likely won't be back and I'll definitely be telling all of my veggie friends that the Bear soup deli is not friendly or inclusive. Any great deli should have lots of options for everyone especially since you already have all of the...

The staff was super friendly and service was a hybrid of carry out and table service - just wish I could leave a tip on the card as I didn't have cash to show appreciation.
Things got a bit hectic for lunch but the food was awesome. I did have a miscue apparently as I chose the black bean soup (which was decent) but everyone was getting the turkey chili. Next time!
Potato salad ran out (at least temporarily) just after I got some and it made sense why. Very good balanced potato salad that doesn't overdo it in one direction on the mustard/mayo ratio. Will definitely get it again.
Grumpy Bear - one of their signatures - was a signature for a reason. One of the better deli style paninis if not best that I have had. A little extra sauce than my beard was fond of, but just make sure to have the napkins ready. :)
I was going to bring half home share the other half with my wife but instantly changed my mind and got the Italian to bring home which was also fantastic!
The cookies were pretty good soft homemade style. The pretzels are apparently good but I didn't try them personally. That will be remedied whenever I'm out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIād been to Bear Soup Deli before, several years ago, and was relatively unimpressed. It was pretty early in their business and I suppose I should have given them the benefit of the doubt, because unfortunately for me, I wrote them off and didnāt return. Luckily, I decided to return today and was proven a fool.
I got a simple pastrami sandwich. It was delicious. The pastrami was good and there was a reasonable heap of it on the sandwich. The bread was toasted, and despite my fears of soggy bread when I opened the package, it was still crisp and fresh, even after a car ride home.
My only real concern is the wait time, but I canāt even fault them there. I showed up almost right at noon, and they were busy preparing call-in orders. I think they got my sandwich out in a reasonable time, especially accounting for the fact there are only three of them behind the counter. And they were all so friendly and welcoming that I can hardly fault them for a time issue. Just be aware, if you go around lunch, youāll likely have to wait. But please do, it is worth it.
Itās not often Iām proven wrong, especially about food, but Iām glad I was proven wrong today. I will definitely be returning to the...
