We went to Belva - Restaurant and Bar for the first time tonight, and it was AMAZING! (My husband, myself, and our 3 boys: 13, 8, and 4) The staff was absolutely amazing, and the teamwork they had was admirable. We were greeted by Abby, she was super sweet and accomodating. Megg was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything and we were happy. Carley and Stacey came and checked on us when Megg was bartending, making sure we were set. They truly made an effort together to make sure we were getting top notch service. My husband wanted a margarita, and Megg did not disappoint!! Food reviews as follows: -Truffle fries: INCREDIBLE! They were served with mayo for dipping. This is not something I would think to request, but WOW, perfect pairing. -Cauliflower: They look like chicken nuggets. Battered and deep fried. We all loved them, and our youngest two would have definitely made them a meal if we weren’t sharing. -Chicken and Sausage Gumbo: Has a small kick, but it is delicious! I could easily have eaten that as an entree and would have been happy. -Salmon: The salmon was perfect! You can taste the freshness. It is not overly seasoned, and it is cooked to perfection. -Lobster and Shrimp Mac: My husband and 8 year old ordered this, and they RAVED about it. Definitely worth the price. The portions are large (we opted for the adult lobster/shrimp mac for the 8 year old) both of them had leftovers. -Chicken Sandwich: Our 13 year old couldn’t finish his. He was trying so hard to eat it all because, “it is sooooo good” but it was too much food for him, so he took half home. -Kids Tenders: Definitely enough for leftovers. They are made fresh and hand battered, not frozen then fried. BONUS! They have AMAZING ranch.
Overall, our visit was enough to warrant 5 stars. We will...
Read moreIt’s really sad what has become of this restaurant. My hubby and I used to frequent Belva at least twice a month, sometimes more. We had to stop going for a few months for personal reasons and when we went back it was so horrible it was almost inedible. Our first time back in months was in September. The food was not anywhere near the same as before. It was cold, bland, and plated sloppily. It was like a complete 180 compared to before. We decided to try again over the weekend and we had similar issues. The same dishes we used to get regularly were absolutely disgusting. I don’t know what happened to Belva but it’s absolutely gone downhill and we WILL not return.
EDIT with a reply to Belva: My husband and I used to adore this restaurant. We don’t know what, but something major changed right before it shut down for weeks. After it re-opened with limited hours things have not the same since. We have friends and family who feel the same way as they’ve experienced it too. I think that if you cannot keep good staff employed, maybe the restaurant business isn’t for you. Stop making excuses and blaming your staff, take some responsibility. Maybe the problem is poor ownership.
Yet a second reply to Belva: it’s really wild because before you edited your reply to me, you said that you couldn’t keep/find good staff. Then you edited it and didn’t add to what you said, but completely changed it to the supposed fact that you do, in fact have good employees. Which is it???
Also I’ve had this account since 2021 but try again. Great job failing to take responsibility for your failing...
Read moreThis was our first time coming in, and we came on a Friday night, and it was empty so we were very worried it was going to be a bad experience and our drinks had taken a while to arrive, but once the drinks arrived, our minds were blown away. We’ve had so many bad experiences are bars with the alcoholic drinks being overpowering, or not tasting good at all, but the first drink I didn’t get a picture of, it was a French martini and it was SOOOO delicious I drank it quickly. The staff was so very friendly and accommodating. The second and third drink were caffeinated drinks, and the espresso martini tasted verrry good, even for it being like black coffee and I don’t even drink black coffee. I personally enjoy a lot of cream in my coffee. So all three of my alcoholic drinks were made beautifully and delicious.
When the food arrived, the croutons in the salad melted in your mouth, the salad tastes very fresh and delicious. My husband got the ribeye steak, and it was much larger than we had anticipated which was a big surprise, everywhere we have gone lately has had bad, very fatty, small steaks. Don’t get me wrong it was fatty, but not overwhelming. It still was VERY yummy. And I got the gnocchi, the bread the very soft and wasn’t hard to eat either. The sauce the gnocchi was in was very unique and very delicious as well.
Overall, our experience with Carly (and the cute bartender whose name I did not catch) was the best we’ve seen in this town in over a year. I’m so happy we decided to try to eat local tonight and I cannot wait to come back. Very very...
