We got the grilled/steamed Fish and Shrimp - I think it was called the number 10. It came with one big piece of fish, five large shrimp, steamed white rice, 2 small hush puppies, and a small container of coleslaw and a couple of sauces. It was EASILY the absolute best fish and shrimp my wife and I have ever had in North Georgia. My brother in law suggested we ask for the spicy cocktail sauce and it was amazing even though we didn't even feel the need to use it. This was the first and only time I've ever been and it's the first time my wife and I have agreed that we want to go to a single restaurant every time we visit Dawsonville. We just stopped by because we were at the Moonshine Festival, but it's better than my other seafood restaurant we've eaten at north of Savannah. I lived on the Atlantic coast of Florida for a few years and it was rivals some of the best mom and pop shops from North Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale. We split one dish, one time. My wife is Haitian and she agreed that it was some of the best fish and shrimp wevey had in North Georgia. My sister and brother in law ordered some type of desert from the menu that was great too - it looked like small rectangles of flour with powdered sugar... More tender and soft than a donut, but not as sweet with better flavor. For those that don't like fish, I saw (and my nephew ordered) fried chicken tenders and fries. Neither of tried those, so we can't comment. I saw fried and steamed oysters, black mussels, etc on the menu too. If you're looking for seafood in North Georgia, this is worth the stop. It's in the Food Lion shopping center next to the NASCAR Hall...
Read moreI ordered 10 pieces of grilled shrimp and 3 sides. The shrimp came in a to-go box and my 3 sides were thrown all together in a plastic bag. I got one piece of corn (menu shows 4 pieces), 3 tiny pieces of broccoli (menu shows approx 8-10). The order was sitting at the register when I walked in. I said I was there to pick up my order and she clearly didn't understand, so another girl came over and acted equally confused. She asked if I ordered online, I said yes, and she points to the order in front of me and said it was already paid for. DUH! And the place is filthy! If the place is that disgusting in the front of the house, imagine what the kitchen looks like? The whole experience was a huge disappointment and rip-off! Poor management and...
Read moreWe stopped here passing through Dawsonville on our way home from the fall activities at an apple farm. This was our 2nd stop that evening for dinner (1st places' online menu drew us in, but reality provided far fewer choices). We took a chance on Kajun, and it did not disappoint from the food, prep, service, and taste standpoint. The gentleman that took our order, I assume, was the owner. He was very kind and friendly. When you enter the establishment, do not expect to be blown away by the ambiance or comfort of the seating and tables as it was very generic and basic but again, the rest of the experience was on point! The food was great with ample seasoning and flavor! We will definitely stop in again if we find ourselves in...
