Am Donuts — Restaurant in Dayton

Popped in on the way out of town a bit before 6am for coffee and kolaches (1/2025). Had a large sausage, the "heart attack" (bacon, sausage patty, egg, cheese), and a spinach & feta pastry thing. My co-travelers are one a diet so I only ordered a half dozen donut holes; good thing too, we'd have eaten how ever many made it into our reach.

Coffee was standard self serve donut shop, solid but nothing special. The kolaches were fantastic. Good proportions and not all bread like some; I'm looking at you Shipleys. Good flavor from the meats and just right sweetness in the bread. The feta and spinach pastry was rich and flavorful. The donut holes legitimately melt in your mouth. Very much sign lit Krispy Kreme vibe. They gave us a couple extra and God bless them for it!

Couple of youngsters manning the counter were on their game. Only critique is they seem to be behind on getting the bulk of their other selections out. We didn't want anything else so no skin off our backs, but it's worth noting. I guess it means they'll be fresh for the en route to school donut fans!

Good reason to be in Dayton...

The owners of this place are absolutely the best and very friendly! Always the best customer service. The food is always fresh and delicious. I have never had any problem. If there ever is a problem, the owner will gladly fix it for you. This is the only place I go to get donuts or...
