JJ Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Dayton

They deleted a question I asked so now I'll review them without the question answered based on my experience in the last 8 weeks. I enjoyed their specials, and so did my husband so we ate there about 4 times a week and spent about 20 each time unless we went on the weekend then it was about double that since we would order large amounts of wings. 8 weeks ago my shift changed and i dont get off until 11 so i would try and call at 11:05 so i could pick it up at 11:20pm , they dont close until midnight right? Thats what their signs say at the store and online, wrong! They close when they feel like it. They wont take a order on the phone they tell me to come to the drive thru so i tried that, I'd get there about 11:15 and someone rudely comes over the speaker and shouts "we're done" i tried this repeatedly, 6 times to be exact, with no success. So in the last 8 weeks they have missed out on about 900 bucks in business and i will never for the life of me return to this location. I've tried to reach out to the owner, i wasnt sure if they were aware if this was happening then my question about the hours and experience im having was deleted, and i got my answer, they know and just dont care. I've reviewed a lot of places, I found this one to be a tough one for me to review. First and foremost this is NO FRILLS whatsoever kind of place. There are two tables and 8 chairs. The building is dated. You walk in and walk to the counter you are greeted by large panes of bulletproof glass. I was wondering if I was walking in to a bank at first. I don't know what to say about that, ill say nothing. Its just off putting. I am just trying to order chicken. Placed an order, it was ready in 15 mins or so. Pretty quick. I didn't look at anything else in the store. I got home and opened my food. I was pleased with the quantity of food, I was pleased with the quality of the chicken I thought it was pretty good actually. It is what it is, greasy, salty fried food. Not something to eat everyday I suppose. My wife ate half her meal and took the rest to work and I still have wing reserves in the fridge I am working on this weekend. You know, if this chicken joint was in a different location I might see it differently but I feel like I got a fair deal. I guess my only suggestion would be this: the chicken is good. A Jem among a world of large fake diamonds. So many big food chains flood our taste buds. Every now and then you come across a place like this. Nothing fancy about it at all. Just a simple building from the looks of it. But the foods that they make are good ole comfort food. A taste of home kind of food. The prices are great. They don't charge more and give you less. Their food taste the way food should. No cutting corners likw some big fast food restaurants. If there is a flaw it would be when they get a rush of people at once. It could take a little minute to get your food. The few times thar has happened to me, my frustration was subsided when i sank my teeth into my food. All was forgiven.
