Hip Hop Seafood & Chicken — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

I love this place. It can be hit or miss at times. I've had the gizzards, the wings and the fish with shrimp. The food is good although it's not highly seasoned. The flavor comes from the lemon pepper that they sprinkle on top. With that being said, sometimes the food is sprinkled well and sometimes it's not. Be sure to ask for lemon pepper on the meat and the fries. Sometimes the fries can be a little under done and not drained well which makes them soggyy. The service is exceptional and my food has never been cold. Also, the lunch specials are worth the price. My biggest complaint is that there has been a bad smell inside of the restaurant on a few occasions. It smell like they have issues with the pipes. I hate this for them. We Love hip Hop the fried chicken is awesome and you definitely get plenty of chicken for the price and it is always hot and fresh the only problem we have is the food is so hot and fresh they put it in cheap styrofoam containers and they melt really bad which is a health hazard and it really sucks because we really love the chicken but it's not worth risking your life for so... Hip Hop, please change your styrofoam containers to something more heat resistant maybe some cardboard or aluminum containers anything but the toxic styrofoam and please don't take this as a cut down because like I said we loved the place it is the best chicken and best deal in town but it's not worth taking years off your life because when that styrofoam heats up and starts to melt like that the fumes get all over the food and that...

While we were in Daytona Beach for Bike Week, we happened to drive past this spot, and it immediately caught my eye since we were looking for small businesses that sell fried chicken. We turned around, parked, and decided to check it out and I’m so glad we did! The place was clean, and the menu had tons of options. We ordered chicken wings, chicken gizzards, fries, and corn nuggets. Let me tell you OMG, the best chicken gizzards I’ve ever had! They were super tender, and the flavor was amazing. My friends got mozzarella sticks, fish, shrimp, chicken tenders, and onion rings, and we all ended up sharing. Everything was fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor.
