Think twice before supporting this store â management doesnât protect employees from abusive customers and punishes staff for enforcing their own policies. If management wonât even protect their own employees from abusive customers, imagine how little they care about the people who shop here. As a former employee, I was left to deal with aggressive customers on my own while simply enforcing store policy. When a customer screamed at me for asking him to follow the rules, management stood by without intervening and then reprimanded me instead of supporting me. The lack of protection and respect for employees made it clear my well-being didnât matter, so I quit. I truly hope this store chooses to treat both customers and employees with more respect in the future. To the man who screamed at me that day â I was only asking you to follow the same policy every customer is expected to follow. I spoke to you politely, but your aggression and yelling turned a simple request into an ugly scene. I wasnât against you; I was doing my job. Your behavior not only disrespected me but also contributed to the toxic environment that made me walk away from that job. I hope you reflect on how you treat people who are simply trying to do their work. This incident did not reflect on another customer situation with a non service dog without lease running around. This review only reflects on the screaming man with a backpack on. If youâre going to investigate then follow through with the correct information. I never mentioned anything about a dog or service animals, but I was a witness to...
Read moreYesterday I bought a sofa for my patio in this store, and today, January 6th, I went to pick it up with my husband. Turns out there was a really nice sofa there, but it was without the price tag. I went to a lady who was there, I think the manager, I don't know, and asked. She said that the price hadn't been set yet and that tomorrow morning the price would be there and the sofa would go to whoever arrived earlier. I went earlier today to pick up the sofa I bought for my patio with my husband. And I asked the guy who put our piece on the bed once more how much that beige sofa was. He replied that he didn't know but that he could go and ask management. We waited for him to return and he returned once again with this lady with black hair, who replied that the price had not yet been determined, and that there were also other people there waiting to know the value of the sofa. She replied that she did not know the price and that it was not her priority. Now if this woman works in this store and if I and other customers are not a priority then what are we? If customer service is not a priority, I would like to know along with my husband who was outraged by her response. After all, what is the business priority that depends on customers????????? I think this lady is in the wrong place, and if she is the owner of the store, I suggest that she sell urgently and go...
Read moreSo my experience with city thrift was decent at first, about the third time I went in with my young son, a woman that has never really seemed to like me came up to me bc I had a bag of returns, she proceeded to tell me that she âdidnât feel comfortable with me having the bags and could I give them to the front desk, so I did so, but then she started following us around the store, I forgot her name but sheâs older, I was even being nice one of the first times I went in and told her she was beautiful. She usually wears her hair in a braid (most of her hair is gray) and most of the time she looks like she doesnât want to be there. Between the ridiculous pricing here and her bc Iâm pretty sure sheâs a manager or something like that, I donât really frequent here anymore. Especially bc after she asked me to put my bag of returns at the desk, the lady at the desk let me know I couldnât even exchange the stuff that day bc it was âhalf off dayââŚ..this woman should not be in a management position. Also city thrift is extremely expensive for things that youâll notice arenât even name brand, I could occasionally find things that were reasonably priced but for the most part, you can expect to be spending just as much as you would if the items were not used. I hate that thrifting is a trending thing at the moment bc I am positive thatâs why theyâre prices...
